This.

Swish hydrogen peroxide then apply Orajel. It comes in a tiny tube in the pharmacy section of any store.

Also when you swish with hydrogen peroxide don't rinse it out or drink anything for at least 30 minutes.

You can also throw in cliffs of what's happening around here and keep me entertained because I think I've missed a lot.
If you have the flu and suddenly develop symptoms of a toothache, very good chance it's not actually a toothache, it's pressure from your sinus pressing on the roots of your teeth causing pain that feels like a toothache. Take sudafed and hot showers, see if that helps. Still use motrin for pain.

I was thinking this too...it all happened around the same time. I do better during the day but night time/sleep is when the pain is the worst. No solid foods at this point, can't chew anything.

I have an appt this Thurs...so couple more days.

Advil every few hours took care of it until I saw a dentist and they fixed it.

You could ask your dentist for pain relief if it's really bad, and under the circumstances they may prescribe a couple of days hydrocodone.

You might want to look up an endodontist just in case. They are specialists who perform a root canal.

I had a cavity filled couple years ago and it turned into a root fracture. Worst pain in my life, had to pull the tooth, hope it all works out

Lower left, last tooth in the back. Metal filling still there from a cavity when I was 10. Just painful and can no longer chew on that side. No wisdom teeth (removed at 16.)

Forget the tylenol responses. Had a wisdom tooth, nothing would stop the pain, but the instant I used orajel, relief.

Last time I had a toothache my dentist was on vacation and it was a weekend... I called the office and he wrote me a script for oxy or whatever and the pain was so intense I took like 2x the recommended dosage and then drank until I was spinning. Finally on monday when the office opened back up they root canaled me but damn, that was a rough 2 days.

And the worst part is the oxy or whatever bound me up so bad I couldnt poop for like 4 days... it wasnt a good week.

Hope you can get it taken care of sooner rather than later, I dont recommend the painkiller route, but I really had no other option.

Pain meds like Aleve might help but if I were you I'd go to a dentist and get checked out. Had a toothache that progressively got worse and worse but didn't see a dentist until it was too late. At it's peak the toothache was the worse pain I'd ever felt. Pain eventually went away, but found out the tooth was dead and needed a root canal.
