Toothache relief help srs?!

First toothache I've ever had. I'm also sick with the flu and no one will see me till I'm over my sickness.

What the hell do you all do for relief?!

This **** is no joke...

You can also throw in cliffs of what's happening around here and keep me entertained because I think I've missed a lot.

Brush your teeth/Advil. I’ve had the same issue a couple of weeks ago with the flu. My whole mouth was in pain.

Get wired up on Ibuprofen Kimmy. This will ease the toothache and also the flu symptoms.

Maybe get a top quality mouthwash as well (if you think there is a possible infection).

Rub Anbesol on the gum of the affected tooth. If you don't have/can't get that, a crushed up Aspirin will work, but that's not a long term cure.

Hope you get it fixed soon and get out of pain!
Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

I don't think there's an infection. There's no swelling and everything looks normal.

I'm doing Ibuprofen, peroxide and salt water rinses. Used some Anbesol earlier and I do have a good mouthwash so will try that before bed.

Thanks everyone.

Be sure to use toothpaste that has fluoride in it (most standard toothpastes do, anyways).

If its really painful its likely an infection, a little sensitivity is one thing but if its any kind of throbbing pain go to the dentist

this and ibuprofen. I remember my last tooth ache I took 800mg every 4 hours. If you can get your hands on some pain killers like vicodin from a friend or family member that would be ideal until you can get yourself to a dentist

Been there Kimm. I'd avoid too much ambisol or mouthwash same with clove oil. sometime it can tweak the nerve more than just letting it rest.

For me 2 Aspirin every 6 hours is about the best. Food and drinks at room tempeture.

Can you get over the counter codeine? Because that helps and you can combine with aspirin or paracetemol.

During the day, caffeine affords some pain relief and again you can combine that with the above drugs.

At night you could probably take an old school antihistamine to get you drowsy, you'd have to check Dr Google as to whether you can combine a specific type with codeine but if you can, that will allow you to sleep.

I find codeine plus booze seriously reduces pain but medical professionals get all tutty when I mention it, plus I have a strong tolerance so maybe don't do that.

Also keep your mouth super clean until you can get to a dentist as mentioned above. Brush, floss, listerine.

Throbbing is most likely an infection and you should do a telemedicine appointment to get a antibiotic script.

alternate max single dose of advil and tylenol every 3 hours

orajel can numb

walgreens and such sell toothache kits that contain clove oil which acts as a numbing agent

ice pack against face

cardio has helped lessen it for me also, guess it takes mind off it

This. You don't even need to cycle/alternate. Taking them together is safe and recommended for tooth pain and in general when it hurts bad and you don't have a prescription med available. My wife had an oral infection and that's what they told her to do when she called on the emergency after-hours line.

You can also do Alleve/Naproxen + Tylenol but Ibuprofen is faster acting.

Even when I was spitting up a mouth full of blood and so swollen I couldn’t open my jaw I didn’t have an infection

“Could be” is a better word

Had my wisdom tooth grow in so painful,

Ibuprofen saved my life, 400-600 every 4 hours, it instantly brings down the pain/throbbing when I did, soon as 3 1/2 hours kicked in I could feel it again

Motrin is supposed to be really good too.

Salt water, not a fan of the oral gels they do work for about 10-15 mins but I think it burned my gums and made it worst once the ibuprofen wore off

Dentist said I had pulp necrosis when I had that horrible tooth pain. Nothing will help, but going to the dentist to get a prescription from them. At least nothing did for me.
