There used to be a popular mentoring program back in the 90's/2000 called BoysTown, I wonder if its still around.

I was fatherless growing up besides the yearly new bf my mom would get.

Growing up in the 80's i was in the minority of kids whose parents were divorced, sometimes the only kid in class.

Luckily i had a grandfather that stepped up to the plate.

the classic path to manhood is done through some form of rite-of-passage.

It's diminished in America and not just those who grow up without a father figure. Military service has always been a good one for America.

Literally every civilization since the dawn of time has had some rite of passage up until now. First hunts, solo wilderness trips etc. Doesn't have to be anything fancy.

There's something about being out on your own that really forces you to become a man. I think the first time I really ever truly felt like a man was when I took 2 solo trips - one kayaking down a river and the other being a solo camping trip. No one to protect you from the wilderness or to save you from drowning. It's all on you.

do you still drop your own kids off at daycare? or has that season of life come to an end.

Adding to that, there are some schools (especially in elementary and/or single sex schools) that only want a certain type of male teachers. If you look like a rugged, tough, masculine dude, they're more wary about you compared to someone who looks ....well like a twink or a very nerdy, effeminate type of guy.

Do you consider kindergarten daycare?

You know one of the many things boys miss out on when growing up without a father is how to be a father when it's there turn.

I'm saying boys need to learn how to be men, but young men also need to learn how to be a man.

you cant, itll be a stroke of luck.

A child is like a young tree , if the tree has no brace to oblige it to grow vertically, itll end up going left,right and side ways due to natural elements battering it from all sides.

I got a test boost watching Tony Soprano and Goodfellas back in my late teens. Some good WW2 movies and watching the Military channel def helped me a bit. Not too sure what these fatherless kids can watch these days.
Fuarkkkkk. Remember feeling like a big time dude after watching sopranos with my old man. Dunno how these fatherless boys will ever cope. My old man was a drunk and a tradie but at least I knew how to be a man.
