How can we teach fatherless boys how to be men?

I really believe this is the root cause to a great deal of the despair we currently see in the world.

So how do you teach boys how to be men?

Inb4 you're a man if you feel like a man.

That's the million dollar question. I'd say it would have to be done via media, but we see what they're doing to current day men. I got a test boost watching Tony Soprano and Goodfellas back in my late teens. Some good WW2 movies and watching the Military channel def helped me a bit. Not too sure what these fatherless kids can watch these days.

Religion srs. This is more or less an attempt at structuring values, whether you buy the supernatural stuff or not.

A good coach is a father figure

Im not talking about a pansy ass “just go out there and have fun” coach, but a coach that will grill the **** out of you if you slip up and encourage you to do your best and best your best.

Sports and community. He needs male role models. If he has a good team and a good coach that can be huge in his life. Otherwise a good community of neighbors, family and friends with good role models is huge as well.

The problem is most single moms never set their sons up or look for those opportunities. They usually pick up a beta male boyfriend or a doucher and cling on to that guy to be a father figure in which fukks that kid up even more. Pretty brutal for boys with a single mom.

Had a kid in my highschool that had 2 moms (lesbos adopted). Actually turned out to be a cool kid and pretty popular and manly purely because of baseball and our school's culture with it. Bad environment for males at home, but school/friends/sports saved him.

Yes, the right male role models are almost indispensable. Probably easier if they look similar

There should be an elective in high school that teaches them things a man should know, such as sports, how to feel the sharpness of a knife, etc.

I wanted to say sports can help, but there's plenty of degens that make it to the NFL and NBA these days. Depends on the coaches.

Takes a community to raise a kid and community is on a downward trend.

Military is an option too.

There's a local celeb that pushes a big brother program. As much as I want to do it, I have my own family of nieces and nephews to take care of.

They watch YouTube now.

If it wasn’t for me teaching them the value of work and being extremely blunt about the mentally ill in society they would be little miscers 100%

Only reason I say that is because I’ve seen their fatherless friends.

It's all about high test

If you have high test you can't really be feminized

Average test levels these days is like 400 which is borderline low

In my youth we had shows that taught you morals. Shows like Mr. Rogers, 3...2...1...Contact, Benson, a non-woke Sesame Street, and many others. Now video games and bullchit shows like Spongebob, and other non-educational bs shows, along with video games like GTA & COD, and then youtube and tiktok are what raises kids. The schools are also generally bullchit now too. With a trashy sloot mom and absentee father there's no hope for kids from the above and they're doomed.

All we Can do is stress the importance of 2 parent homes to young people today.
It isnt politically correct to point to the fact that being raised by a single mom who works full time is a terrible circumstance. Even divorce is terrible. Co parenting just means One thing. Dad is a cuck and has no power. Mother of his children doesnt respect him so how are the children gonna respect him???

School leadership programs could help.

When I was in school we had teen leadership, which explored areas like empathy, interpersonal communication, and emotional management.

Even the meanest kids had a hard time finding a reason to act up in that class.

When I was a kid, boyscouts. But it is no longer the man-based survival fun time it was when I was a kid. In cub scouts, nearly all den parents were women. Even in boy scouts, it is close to even when you look at attendance for meetings and camping trips. And now its completely ruined because girls can join.

There is something special about man teaching boys how to be men without any women around. As soon as that dynamic is breached, it is all over.

A lot of people are expecting male teachers to take up the role of being pseudo-fathers to students. But I can tell you from experience that unless you are of the same background, culture, or upbringing of troubled students, you're not going to make much headway with them. If anything when you try to help or give direction or model appropriate behavior or expectations, you are often met with derision and claims of being a "sell out" etc. Also it doesn't help when the kid goes back to a broken home, surrounded by negative influences and values or influenced by toxic relatives and friends.

Mentorship, sports, religion, military are all good building blocks for self awareness and manhood.

Sometimes you are lucky enough to find a mentor, but otherwise boys need to go through organized structure of sports, religion, or military because learning how to perform in a team and that you are not the most important thing in the world by yourself is the first step towards manhood.

Men need a higher purpose.
For every man, there is a sentence, a string of words, that has the power to destroy him

I have been seriously thinking about this for the past few years. One of the things I was thinking about was opening up a place where fatherless kids can come and learn important life skills. I could lean on my network of people that i know who are really good at X, Y, or Z and have them come in, spend time with these kids and be a positive influence in their lives in different areas such as personal finance, discipline, grind mentality, mindset, sports, mental coaching, art and just sometimes someone to talk when things are rough at home.

Its not that they wont grow up to be men, obviously they will.

What happens most times is they grow up without an understanding of honor.

Its something that most men learn from an early age from their Dad or Grandpa. Its when you shake the opponents hand at the end of the game, win or lose and say good game.

Its when you get into a fight and shake hands afterwards and have a beer. Sounds obvious to us but women do not understand these concepts. They are naturally selfish so will kick a guy when he is down thinking thats how you get ahead. Look at how they behave in divorces. They never just want to go their own way 50/50.

So these guys are raised in a world where they arent taught this simple honor among men. Ends up with grown men displaying female traits of selfishness. Not a good combination.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda
