Some guys pretend to be a badass just to be attractive. Getting tats is a good example of that. I have met lots of guys who get them just to look like they don't care, are tough, etc and so that's being obsequious.
I never thought about it like that!!

But I’ve always been dismissive of complements because I feel like an ass hole if I just say thanks. Working on that though.
Since I don’t believe in free will I can’t take any credit for being a “great guy” because all I am is the sum of my genetics and environment.
