Yeah, Lip from shameless is the main guy in this, dude nails this role, too. I managed FOH years ago, never worked BOH personally. They drink water out of deli containers bro, 10/10 realest chit on TV.

Loved this show. 10/10...
I used to work in kitchens growing up from 15yo to 21yo. Definitely relate. I have been saying for years there needs to be a real show about working in a restaurant. If i could make more money working in a kitchen i would do it in a heart beat. Love the work and being "in the weeds". Time fukin flys by

I think they wanted to give a happy ending and set up either a perfect closure if it only gets one season or leave the door open for S2. Would almost prefer it if that is the ending - I want more but they just nailed it.
As far as how it actually happened - I think his brother/"cousin" were laundering the coke money thru the business. The company his brother was writing all the untraceable payments to was a cannery. The drive by/dealers outside the Beef seems to point to a bigger crime org being involved

Spoiler!
Regardless of the $$ laundering, he still has to pay Cicero the 300k back lol. They never implied or stated the $$ in the cans was more than 300k which I think brings confusion. I still really enjoyed it tho regardless and hope they do a season 2
My girl said it's perfect as a 1 season thing, but I wanna see more of the people they were great. I was so pissed off at Syd and the baker during episode 7 tho. How you gonna focus on doughnuts and not your job making like 36 slices of cake!! Lol

It's filmed in Mr. Beef, which is the best Italian beef joint in the Chicago area IMO. Better than Al's beef and Portillos.

The question in your spoiler is obviously the big unanswered question headed into S2. And yes episode 7 was absolutely infuriating.

I watched a few episodes last night, and I like it only because I've worked in kitchen/hotel settings for over 15 years. I wonder if others who have zero interest in cooking would enjoy it...

It felt a lot like a sports show to me. The veteran charismatic leader takes a team of loveable losers, and teaches them to believe in themselves. And there's the one super talented raw player who just needs to be taken under the wing and taught how to channel their gifts.

With all this talk about this platform vs that, wondering where anything is in the streaming wars ecosystem, it's amazing more people don't torrent.

Chiming in, I absolutely loved this show! Thanks for the recommendation, Mr. B. Fantastic acting and besides the absolutely psychotic cursing and screaming in the kitchen, it's actually pretty wholesome? No sex, no stupid relationship drama, no real violence. Just people doing good work as a family. Loved it! Looking forward to another season

Lip was the best part of Shameless (outside Frank and Fionna nude). Will watch.
Also been meaning to check out FX's "Old Man." Bridges and Lithgow? Could be good.
