The visuals are great. The story is so so. The characters are meh

Overall I liked it more than I thought I would but I agree I’m enjoying HOD more

Jesus it is woke AF tho. Way too many made up black characters

I kinda liked it. Thought the scenery was good, especially in the dwarven city. The beauty of LOTR is the epic adventure which was showcased already imo

Nearly all movies and TV shows typically enjoyed by males has the same exact woke content.

With adventure stories, you can sell toys and videogames and make billions of dollars, much more than the show they are from. It just didn't feel as respectful. LOTR made changes to the book, but the trilogy was among the best movies ever made. It really did the books justice in film, especially the extended editions. The films were masterpieces. Then came Hobbit to chit all over their legacy. And now we have this...IDK brah.

The Hobbit didn't "sh!t" on anything as a few action scenes didn't do anything much to change the story.

You are repeating stuff others have said.

What I didn't like is that they slowed the pace down to make two films when only one was needed.

However, I didn't mind it being dragged out a bit as the setting and characters are pleasant to me.

Wheel of Time:

That to me was super boring. I have a laser time attention and had trouble paying attention to it and I tried.

On top of that, it looked like actors in costumes wandering around in the woods pretending.

I cannot watch any of the Star Treks because I loved the original and thought all of the followups were not very good.

With Rings of Power, it looks good, is not slow and boring, has an interesting story building, has good acting, but the woke stuff makes it hard to watch.

I want to know where it's going but it's not something I'd watch again like I have the movies.

Spot on. I signed up to IMDB and RT to rate it as low as possible. I am a huge Tolkien fan and a huge northern european mythology fan which Tolkiens works are based on being a Professor of Anglo-Saxon, who was trying to write a mythology for England. They have ruined Rings of Power with the man hating feminist warrior bs and tokenism. Why does american hollywood think diversity = inserting token africans? Do they even realise there are hundreds of other ethnic groups on earth? Tolkien even had other ethnic groups such as the Southrons and Easterlings but no lets just randomly stick black people everywhere even though it makes zero ****ing sense. Amazons versions of the Elves are also pathetic, Harfoots are just budget hobo hobbits, they have changed important characters and storylines from Tokiens works, I could go on. I never post here anymore despite browsing still but this has pissed me off enough to post.

Almost fell asleep during the 1rd episode because nothing really happened. Will give the second one a try. Also lmao @ all the 1-5 star reviews with text have been removed from imdb and only 6-10 star ones remain. At least they didn't manage to delete the actual ratings without text so that's why it's sitting at 6.2/10

Amazon, IMDB & others are censoring/deleting reviews-because people are saying how woke it is & leaving negative scores on RT-apparently is is trolling & racist, because of course pointing out such things are apparently not valid critiques.

I got banned from a SubReddit yesterday for 24 days for the imaginary Transphobia' &/or 'hate' speech. All I said was people who don't identify as male or female should have their own toilets, changing rooms & sport leagues away from men & women.

I pointed out all the trans rabids do is try to get people cancelled & block them from speaking & of course I was reported by at least one of them to shut me up/get me banned-rather proving the point. Of course there is no right to reply from the turds modding there.

What is the point? Anything negative is either being deleted, or being reviewed later on to see if it will be allowed after the fact & clearly all these companies have zero objectivity & are getting kickbacks &/or special favours in return for shilling this garbage & their people giving it high scores.

Not that this is new-can remember Ebert & Siskel along with others saying the film studios used to offer them all kinds of incentives to give positive reviews & they told them to stick it. it was so ****ing terrible, couldn''t even finish it without skipping parts. bad dialogue, bad writing, bad costumes, bad everything, it had ZERO feeling of a tolkien story. felt like i was watching a whole different concept.

A lot of money spent just so they can make a show around "female empowerment"

They made every white man on screen either ignorant or low key evil. Every woman a "strong female". And decided to sprinkle in black people randomly.
