There were Asians, blacks etc in Lotr too but they were all orcs. Srs check them out without make up. Google lote orc actors

Both of those have basis in real life. LOTR doesn't. If Blade was cast as a white guy, I wouldn't care. If Shaft was cast as a small Asian man, that wouldn't make much sense would it? But it would be funny.

Again, Django and Saving Private Ryan are both loosely based off of historical events in history, so there's already a template to follow.

A world of orcs and trolls and dragons can be anything it wants to be because its not related to anything contextually....Actually i'll take that back Tolkein did base the Land of Middle Earth off of Europe, but look at the demographic of Europe today. Its much more diverse so technically its still accurate, lol.

Well the first episode is visually stunning enough. I love the LoTR books, and films. Will see just how well written the show and cast is, going to watch episode 2 later today. So I’m assuming there is an official discussion thread in misc and that this is not it?

I don't understand the retardation in this thread. I hate LOTR.

BUT Just because it's fantasy. Doesn't mean rules don't apply.

Step 1:
There are already established rules in a fantasy world. If there wasn't, all races should technically be able to blast magic at the magnitude of Gandalf, but there is some logic in this gay fantasy world.

Step 2:
Why do skin colors look so different? Let's be honest. It's not that it was originally like that. It was because liberals added it. There is no logical explanation.

You know how stupid liberals prevent housing development in big cities by passing regulation that prevents cheap housing? Then they claim house prices are so high because of demand, while completely ignoring the constrained supply on the other side?

There is no logical explanation, but there are 2 explanations for this phenomena.

1) they are virtue signaling and want other liberals to be proud of them

2) there are bad intentions; i.e. they need access to a slave class to fill their min wage jobs.

That's what's wrong with this bs. It's either of those 2 choices with this gay show.

Dude it's not a random fantasy they just came up with. If it were, the only thing people would complain about was the chitty story and characters.

The reason people are mad is because they're fans of the source material, like me. You are clearly NOT a fan of LOTR so you have no dog in this fight. I'm a guy of color who grew up reading LOTR and the trilogy are my favorite movies ever. The writer of the story has clearly set boundaries, he painstakingly went into great detail about his world. These characters do not belong there.
