1 month update.

Still waiting on a few mri's but so far my wife's lower back came In today and annular fissure on L5 and S1.

Got 10k more for my tahoe then what I paid for it 2 years ago so I went and bought something cash. Wife and daughter are super scared in the car and we don't drive as many places now.

We missed our sons last high school football game because it was 3 nights after wreck and wife didn't want to drive 2 hours to the game. Only game missed his entire life. Sucked.

I have the mri image of my neck and doc said my t5 and t6 are buldging.

Our doctor saw the picture of my wife's neck tonight and went " uh oh" . He said he won't comment until the radiologist sends the report. All we got back from radiologist tonight was my wife's lower back.

I'm not a doctor but I can see the pics. If my wife's L5 and s1 have a annular fissure and are buldging 3mm......her t3 t4 t5 t6 are 10x worse.

Accident happened at about 845 pm. I was driving my family home from my son's high school football game. One exit north of a Hugh outdoor mall area with lots of bars and restaurants. He told the officer he was on his way home from a date.

If you knew he was going to hit you, would didn't you move out of the wey?

But you handled it well. The law will punish him correctly. People make mistakes like DUI. Its part of life.

2 issue I have though, my wife was just put on permanent disability for a neck injury at work a year ago. She was just cleared to go back to work with a weight limit. She had a interview yesterday for a new job and we really need to her to get the job. This better not mess that up. The other is my 13 year old daughter is special needs , she's really shaken up and was crying non stop. . She will be bothered by this for a long time. By 2 teenage sons are highschool football players and like I'm good just sore.
sounds like you just hit the jackpot my friend the dude was driving a Tesla drunk driving, hes got lots of money. He screwed your whole family up, basically yeah you're getting a Payday I wouldn't worry just spend your money on a good lawyer is my advice

It happened in about a second. I would have had to of jerked the wheel and go into a different lane , not knowing if I was going to hit someone else. It would have definitely been a unsafe lane change and me hitting someone else would have been my fault. Remember this is southern California near the 91 and 15 freeways. Super busy area. I would have jerked the wheel , he probably still would have hit me , then maybe we flip or something. In that split second I just figured the safest thing to do was to keep the wheel straight.

I replaced our tahoe with a diesel ford excursion.

Our rental car was a accord and my wife was terrified to be in it. The tahoe definitely helped protect us.

If you said the words " we about to get hit " extremely fast , how long would it take you ? 1 second? Should I have just crashed the car next to me ?

I don't knock anyone in situations where you have to make split second decisions. Humans are just not built for that stuff.

Could you have sped up to so that he wouldve hit you less hard though?

And I hope you and your family sue him for every penny he’s worth and then some.

Yeah it is a consideration. My car is little and would surely be squished but I can't afford a tank type vehicle or the fuel for one.

Sped up? Probably not. The Time it takes for my tahoe to excelerate , instead of 65 I would have been doing 70. Can't image that being a game changer. Remember I went off the freeway and down a little hill. That didn't help.

Just got my Mri back . Basically annular fissures in 5 disc's. 5 buldging disc's . Worse ones being a 3.0 and 3.6 mm disc buldge. I can't see my doctor for a few days , my attorney just sent me the report, can anyone tell me how bad that is ?
