Real talk. Also listening to podcasts and audiobooks and chit habitually, mind-muscle goes out the window for a lot of peeps.

My legs grew from doing heavy belt squats. Just progressive loading up to 6 plates a side for sets of 6-8. It helps to not train legs like a pussy, which is why I think most people can't grow legs.... I'm willing to take OPs advice though, it's solid. Train them hard the right way.

What I have found to be the single most common reason men are not growing their legs is because they are too much of pussies to use their legs to do the lifting.
Men like to follow the path of least resistence and do what their body wants to do most naturally but just keep adding weight and make only slight modification like "standing wider" "point toes out" "high bar or low bar" but they are missing the point completely and still moving the weight with the wrong muscles.

I admit, doing heavy ass squats is a TYPE of hard. But that type of hard pales in comparison to doing CORRECT leg movements only using your legs. I think deep down most men know this. But they just pick the heavy squats because 1) it feels rewarding after, 2) it feels manly 3) it looks cool 4) they think "if ronnie did it, it may not be the BEST thing but surely if I lift enough my legs will grow"

unfortunately for number 4 that is 100% false, and that is the thinking men get into and never grow their legs and end up injuring themselves year after year and retaining small legs.

The solution is to stop being such a pussy, drop the weight, drop the ego, and practice week after week just using your LEGS not your glutes, hips, and lower back to lift the weight.

Realize its going to be extremely challenging because it is NOT what your body wants to do so you have to fight your body and fight throuhg a different pain unlike the easy pain of just lifting heavy like a juggernaut.
The secret to big legs is favourable genetics and training comes second - IDK how it works with enhanced athletes though.

I for one agree with OP. The disrespect from little 170lbs fukkers and wheelspinners with extremely unimpressive physiques and keyboard warriors trying to knock people who actually have lifting experience and knowledge on this forum is out of control.

Yall want to disrespect one of the last knowledgeable lifters on here because you thinkg everying is about peds and drugs you can get royally fukked the whole lot of you.

Seriously misc is descending into **** faster and faster every day.

The amount of dumbass ****ty lifters who think they deserve to have a voice with people who actually take lifting seriously is disgusting.

shut your fukking mouth if you don't know what you are talking about.

I am seriously blown away that people think they can tell me how lifting and nutrition works FFS

There is a lot of BS in this thread that I can't help but call out.

Firstly muscle activation in a front squat vs a back squat is nearly identical. With that in mind I think it's reasonable to assume that activation between a high bar squat is very similar to a low bar squat.https://www.strongerbyscience.com/sq...ee-dominant-3/

Anecdotally look at any elite powerlifter, their quads are going to be massive.

In saying that there's nothing to say you absolutely have to barbell back squat to get big legs. Like every other muscle group getting stronger over time across a selection of exercises is probably the best thing to do for quad development.

I agree training through a fuller range of motion is always favorable and probably leads to more hypertrophy overall. In saying that, deep squats won't shift the emphasis towards quads over glutes.

Look at muscle activation in this study which looked at partial vs full ROM squats.

Legs are meant to be used for speed and athleticism, not to be made bigger to impress other men and not be able to find clothes to wear.

Athletic movements still develop the muscle and let you actually move

i never work my legs because all those exercises make you shorter.

imagine losing 2 inches over the years to get bigger legs. you're 6'1 and now 5'11.

it's very low IQ
