Thats not true.

Good workers were harder to find back in the day because there was no internet or hiring sites or any of that. They placed an ad in the paper and you had to call to get an appointment and go there wih resume in hand that you typed on an actual typewriter.

The workers didnt have to be stellar at customer service as long as they were solid workers. They were hard to replace.

Customer service has improved tremendously since then because employers can easily get replacements now. Its vastly better now than it has ever been.

That coworker is just suffering from good old days syndrome where he thinks everything was better back then. In reality, it wasnt.

Fast food workers have never been attentive and courteous. never.

That has not been my experience, cashiers are always super nice to me, and even give me free shyt quite often.

That said, all I want is my order right. Nothing else. Those people are making like $15/h, I'm not gonna try to make their day worse.
