Sounds like you've made up your mind. With absolutely no data to support what you say except "trust me bro, they are all colluding", I'm gonna go ahead and not bother with this or you any further.

The Church of Climate Change has been a religion for the left since the 1970's when they said we were ushering in a new ice age. They used to call it global warming.

Right. Climate change [not caused by normal human activity], magnetic pole shift, giant rock from space, direct hit with some sort of cosmic ray...these are all things which could screw current life on the planet which we can't do much about.

I understand your disbelief wincel. You want to keep your faith in science; that it is an empirical truth that you can believe in.

But just like religions or political ideologies there is no purity because humans are imperfect, self-interested, and prone to biases.

Do you know the story of lab mice? I think that I first heard it maybe 3 years ago.

- everything gives you cancer

- Bret Weinstein figured out that the mice used by labs had been raised in such a way as to make them more prone to cancer than wild mice

- when he approached established scientists about it mostly they dismissed him while one dismissed him and then stole his work by taking his hypothesis and expanding on it for publication

- all the old studies done with the cancer prone mice? unrevised and still out there with no caveat that said studies used "cancer mice"

For all I know the cancer prone mice are continuing to be used for lab work which is then used to guide policy and treatment for humans.

The CO2 "greenhouse gas" model has been established as dogma and scientists who speak against it are muted.

You might want to check out the Winter Gatekeeper hypothesis:

https://wattsupwiththat.com/2022/10/...er-hypothesis/
The effect of solar activity on the polar vortex, first reported by Karin Labitzke in 1987, is better understood. There is now considerable evidence that solar activity affects the state of the polar vortex. The mechanism, which was already proposed in the 1970s, is called “Planetary Wave Feedback” (Gray et al. 2010). The amount of energy and momentum impinging on the polar vortex depends on the state of the stratosphere which is affected by solar activity. During periods of low solar activity, more energy is delivered, perturbing the polar vortex, which is more stable under high solar activity. The stability of the polar vortex is of fundamental importance for the winter climate of the Northern Hemisphere mid-latitudes and for the amount of energy reaching the Arctic.

The Winter Gatekeeper Hypothesis puts this known solar mechanism into context as part of a more general effect of solar activity on meridional transport through the stratosphere and troposphere from the tropics to the poles. It also shows transport changes affect climate by changing the amount of energy leaving the planet as outgoing longwave radiation in the polar regions.
Or maybe TES's hypothesis that climate change is due to an exothermic cycle:

Humans have been overly panicking about the climate for decades. It's just gone by different names across time (i.e.,global warming). It's more widespread now with the advent of mass media, internet, and social media allowing people to disseminate literally any sensationalist information they want at the drop of a dime, so it's more in everyone's social consciousness. It's also become a political topic now more so than a purely environmental one.

It's part of the human condition. We form tribes and bash each other over the head with proverbial clubs when the other tribe doesn't agree with my tribe's tenants. It's all black and white thinking, absolutely no critical, balanced, flexible thought. Look at this forum.

its going to happen 1000 percent.

during covid they were throwing out articles saying "omg look how much carbon emissions dropped, we might have to do carbon lockdowns in the future to save the planet"

that is just to normalize the idea and test people's resonse to it.

they want everyone on electric cars. These cars all have telemetry. They will shut down and/or block peoples cars and only allow "essential" driving. The days of going to a gas station and buying gas in cash are over. If your social credit score drops they will cut off your electricity and turn off your car. If you dont think this will happen after what went on the last 2 years you are going to be in for a shock. Most cities and states in the US never passed a single covid measure law, everything was an "emergency order" from the president, governor, mayor ect, from the executive branch. Totaltarian overreach is here.

Man I thought misc couldn't get any dumber after that holocaust denial thread jesus...

Certain groups have politicised the scientific theory around climate change because it suits their business interests. If you think that "believing" in climate change puts you in one end of the political spectrum or the other, congrats, you have fallen to propaganda of massive conglomerates that don't give a f*** about you or anything but money. Empirical fact is humans are ruining the planet faster than ever before. Big oil and other companies don't want to do anything about this because it costs them money so they have distorted the public debate around it to such a degree that your average Joe with no scientific credentials thinks he knows better and votes against his own interests. Tragic.

Can you expand on this? We may be aligned, or maybe not.

Are you saying that you believe that humans bear the majority of the responsibility for higher global temperatures?

Or that humans are contributing *some* to the changes?

I think there is a change happening, but I don't believe that electric cars and eating bugs and paying climate reparations will do a damn thing other than make some rich powerful interests even more rich and powerful.

Because I agree that they don't give a f*** about us.

the earth is going through it's cycle. we can't prevent this from happening.

the politicians have been talking about climate change for decades in an effort to control people and make money. the world was supposed to "un-liveable" today based on articles in the 70's/80's.

Talk to me, what is the point? Can you refute or engage any of my points? I would say the OP of this thread is a prime example of what I was saying.

I would add that humans need to adjust their lifestyle if they want to minimise the drastic consequences of our actions, so yes that could mean taxes or that certain things get more expensive. If you consider that left wing go ahead. It may make you feel good to be told how climate change is fake and we shouldn't change and everything is fine, but you're just in denial. I think there is a serious problem with environmental destruction but the actors that are pretending to do something about it are just using it to pad their pockets and push an agenda.

I'll give you one example of something I know a lot about. The Electric Vehicle. Sure, it's not burning diesel, gasoline, or any other fuel, but when you look at the broader picture, they are as bad if not worse. Probably 15+ years from now there will be a new crisis of batteries that need to be disposed of or recycled. Working at a car dealer as someone who works on the EV's, we already have an issue with the manufacturer not picking up the used batteries after we change them out. One that was there for months they just credited us for the core but never picked up. Called them to tell them they forgot it and they were like okay we will pick it up. Still haven't and now they are just like they don't care and why are we worried about it because we have a credit. They low key kind of told us we can do whatever with it. Dude at Toyota told me the same thing with the Prius batteries.

The earth's climate changes naturally, it goes through different phases, albeit extremely slowly. Scientists have discovered that we humans have distorted this natural process so much, that a lot of changes that normally happen over the span of thousands of years or more are now happening orders of magnitude faster. Some of the consequences of this are known and have already started taking effect, but there's also things scientists don't know because it's hard to predict some things due to their chaotic behaviour (i.e. sensitivity to initial conditions). Humans are knocking the earth and its dynamical processes significantly off balance.

So yes, humans bear the majority of the responsibility for this fast of a temperature rise.

I understand your fear that these facts can be used by powerful people to enrich themselves and they will be, as these powerful interests exploit anything they can, they have no moral or ethical viewpoints but money.

Eating bugs is gross, but it would genuinely help unfortunately. The amount of feed and water that goes into and the methane that comes out of a cow producing your steak has a much higher environmental cost than an insect based protein source.

Humanity is facing its greatest challenge yet, but being the monkeys that we are, we only care to argue and think about our own short term interests over the collective long term ones.

Oh I agree about humans having a negative environmental impact via waste and pollution and just generally bad management.

But the "climate emergency" is a load of horse puckey. It is a scary story being used to manipulate the masses and extract resources.

If you give much of their new "rules" for their "rules based international order" what they are doing is wrecking the people who are living well in industrialized nations.

^^^
Notice it is "rules", not laws. Because there is no direct mechanism whereby the governed who are being "ruled" by this agenda get to vote on any of this or even for the few remaining non-evil public servants to halt it.

Do I act like that?? I agree with you, there are always interests that stand to benefit from any move, that is the nature of a society.

As far as an agenda, I just hope humanity can start thinking long term.

So yes, humans bear the majority of the responsibility for this fast of a temperature rise.
Have you looked for or into opposing viewpoints though? I've seen the many citations that climate is presently changing "10X faster than average". And we humans think we are the main characters of the story. But what if we aren't though? What if there really is a cycle of roughly 12,000 years?

A single hypothesis came to dominate the field [uniformitarianis over catastrophism]and thereafter evidence that didn't support that hypothesis was discarded or downplayed as a fluke.

It is a very long article.

Keep being the useful idiot you are, that's all you can amount to be at your intellectual level.
Sounds like projection, so far you have said nothing of substance but insults towards me and continue to do so.

First of all, I'm not leftist, in fact I voted for a center-right party previous elections here. MSM talking points to make me feel intellectually superior? Lol, the talking points I'm using come from empirical science. You keep mentioning a disparity of intellect when it is not relevant to any discussion we have had. Curious.

Hint : It's not about climate change.
I get what it's about, politicisation of empirical facts to seize control and I understand the fear. Like I said, there are always interests that stand to benefit from any move.

But the fact that you think we should do nothing against climate change so as to not give power to "the leftists" is tragic. Why does it have to be political to want to keep our planet habitable and in a good state?

Remaining fearful of those who want to seize control does not disallow the act of trying to save the planet.

How the fuk is introducing climate change taxes, pushing environmentally destructive EVs and pushing people to eat bugs "saving the planet"?

I'm fully onboard with trying to reduce human pollution impact on the earth but all of the proposed solutions are stupid, doesn't accomplish its goal and serve only to further enrich the elites.
