What's not to like if you're a warhawk from either side of the aisle?
It's "fewer mouths to feed" and "fewer people".

In 2006, under the Bush administration, the US Arrny started accepting recruits with felonies.

There is certainly a factor to the recruitment numbers being down because of the woke military. But people, mainly conservatives, are also ignoring that the last 20 years of BS wars, started by baby Bush is a huge factor as well.

The new Navy guidelines will allow the service to enlist 7,500 recruits that fall into "Category IV," which are applicants with a high school diploma who scored within the 10th and 30th percentile on the Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT), according to Military.com

The problem has been the most pronounced with the Army, who missed its 2022 fiscal year recruiting goals by 15,000 soldiers. While the Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps were all able to squeak by and narrowly meet their goals, all three had to dig deep into their pool of delayed entry program candidates to make up the shortfall, putting them behind their 2023 goals.
So liberals can join now?

They are lowering standards Patricia. Don't worry though, even if there was a draft, your sickly frail children would be exempt.

Have they started issuing anal lube as standard issue? Like when you get your shave kit it includes razor, shaving cream, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, KY Jelly?

Up to 75 Percent of US Youth Ineligible for Military Service.

https://www.thoughtco.com/us-youth-i...ervice-3322428

About 75 percent of America's 17- to 24-year-olds were ineligible for military service due to lack of education, obesity, and other physical problems, or criminal history.

It's unfortunately gotten worse.

Even More Young Americans Are Unfit to Serve, a New Study Finds. Here's Why.

A new study from the Pentagon shows that 77% of young Americans would not qualify for military service without a waiver due to being overweight, using drugs or having mental and physical health problems.

A slide detailing the findings from the Pentagon's 2020 Qualified Military Available Study shared with Military.com shows a 6% increase from the latest 2017 Department of Defense research that showed 71% of Americans would be ineligible for service.

So imagine 5 years from now, that percentage will probably increase to 83%.

Good. Now maybe people will start actually thinking about not using that 25% for anything other than literally defending the US, and not being the police of the world.

Army is going to have some issues meeting their quotas now. They had the market cornered on low IQ applicants until now.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda
