Too much truth in that first part. I've never regretted my decisions regarding family, but I sure look back at some of my money/occupation decisions and wish I'd made different choices. Sometimes you don't know what will make you happy till way down the line.

$150k salary does not support a family well enough in 2022. You might be able to get by, but it's not anything impressive. Anything under $100k isn't even doable.
The flaw in your post is that the median household income is $76k. 95% of families get by just fine below $100k income. Maybe your family needs $100k because of luxuries and new cars

All you need is a simple Google search.

I am a fan of college degrees for women. My wife and I met at college. Knowledge is a good thing, from my perspective. Worthless degrees and debt are bad, so just pick a woman without those.

I wanted to marry a woman who wanted to be a stay at home mom so that was something I looked for specifically and that was discussed up front. I also recognized that part of that was me being a traditional husband. I suspect that it's just as hard for women to find a traditional husband as for men to find a traditional wife. I make more than 100k but generally less than 150k. We don't drive new cars and live somewhat frugally. Public school (wife is doing home school very successfully with one), but I do spend a lot on piano lessons.
On spread but would rep you.

That’s one way, but that doesn’t discount other options where you make choices based on stage of life

I had a career pre children, which I gave up in favour of being a SAHM for 7 years. Then took a part time job that worked with schools hours but cos I had skills and experience from first career it built up into a 2nd career I never expected, all within child caring responsibility hours when kids too young to be left alone.

Huge amounts of luck that wouldn’t have happened without career and education

In other news I quit at start of year and had people reach out offering me consultancy work which is pretty lucrative but that’s another story

It all comes down to how masculine the woman is. I have never seen a woman with a high-paying high-stress career not end up becoming somewhat masculinzed because that's what it takes in order to be successful. Women in those positions don't date down so if you're a man also in a high-paying high-stress career why would you want a more masculine wife than a more feminine wife that also has a career?

Yes, women are wrong to do this.

The incredibly large majority of career women do not have the temperament to get through it properly.

My wife is a career woman and she is always crying and whining and complaining about this or that at work. Things that any man would swallow and bull through.

My wife founded and ran a successful engineering practice and now runs a division after being bought out.

Since our daughter was born, we each WFH half of the week so that we can split the childcare.

Women working is inherently neither good or bad. The problem is when it is at odds with societal/cultural pressures.

A woman may feel pressure to go out there and do it all, when what she really wants is to be a stay at home mom and is therefore miserable. The opposite is also true: she may be pressured by family or culture to be a stay at home mom and what she really wants is to be out there taking the world by storm.

There is no one size fits all solution to this.

Depends what you mean. Few people have careers, they instead work at a job. Most women should have a paying job this day and age, very few should seek a career. Even super smart, really ambitious women who've have their schitt together more than the men surrounding them since they were in grade school get burned out by the time they're in their early 30s trying to climb the corporate ladder. They're seeking a career and it's too much, so they settle into having a job like most people.

And it usually doesn't work out well in the end for them. If they're lucky they'll have their only child in their late 30s with a guy in his 40s and settle into upper middle class lifestyle.

Glad it worked out so well for you and I agree. There is no one size fits all solution. Even someone who knows what they want may not get it because of circumstances out of their control.

We're still in the "young kids" phase. I'm not sure what my wife will want to do when they're all in school. Maybe she will still be doing some home schooling. Public school has generally been good for my kids, we just had circumstances with one where it made sense to home school and it's been good for all of us. I'm a partner in a small engineering business and we've talked about her working with me. Even when they're all in school, she may still feel too busy to pick up work for a while - we'll have three teenagers at the same time next year.

My mom never held a job outside the home. She kept the books for the farm and raised kids. Once we were gone, she volunteered at church and took care of elderly parents (still ran the house of course). My dad was a farmer and we would often do vacations last minute. During the summer he was always super busy with irrigating but if we got a lot of rain so we could shut the water down we would take off to play a couple days. I think part of the reason she never got a job was because it would interfere with that lifestyle.

Last summer my wife helped with watching a 1-year-old so the mother could work because the grandma who normally watched the baby had cancer and couldn't for several months. My wife likes having the flexibility to do things like that for others and being a stay at home mom helps with that kind of flexibility (although as you noted sometimes work can fit, too). Historically, women provided a lot of that kind of help in families and communities that went woefully underappreciated, but I think is missed a lot now.

idk

ask these feminists in 20 years when they are alone and lonely with 7 cats if they regret prioritizing their "careers" as paperwork pushers or paralegals.

A woman's inherent evolutionary nature is beautiful, and it's to bring life into this world, and nurture. You ever see a grandmother with her grandchildren and husband say she wishes she would have just made a little more money and been alone?

While you have a life outside the home, what happens to her life when you’re 2.4 children no longer need full time care or have grown up and even left. What do you and her do then?
What do we do then? We live life and enjoy the fruits of it.

What in fuk makes you think a woman not working as a slave in a cubicle and having sex with tons of men makes them inexperienced in life? This is entirely a few decades old of living. What you're saying is the anti-thesis of almost all of history, and you wonder why women are so fukking miserable.

A man's life outside of the home is to take care and help fund the home. The woman keeps the house a home. It's called working in tangent as a loving couple and dividing the work based on skills and strengths.

You wonder why whites in the West are fukked. They are at the breaking point. They're failing. Why? They all send their kids off to go into major debt, then force them out of the house or cultural put pressure on them to leave the house when they have a low paying job they hate with tons of debt and a society with a high COL, and then kids resent their parents that talk about how their kids don't work hard enough to have what they have. Then you have kids that despise their parents and family. Everyone lives alone and breaks apart and everyone financially and functionally is separated. Then the parents get divorced and the kids are left broken trying to figure out their life while under major financial stress.

This is why wealth has evaporated for most white families. Every other immigrant type family in the US wins because they stay together, they pool money, they have defined roles based on their sex, the women stay at home and take care of the kids and house, the men work and save unselfishly to fund their family and make a good life for them. Yet that is seen as slavery for women now. That's holding women back? That's not experience for a woman?

So you think it’s either virgin bride or working in a cubicle and banging everything that moves? The fact that these are the extremes some men have created in their heads is really worrying.

Read the happily married people and the situations they are in, all different and all probably discussed within the relationship without preconceived notions of this is what you will want and who you will be and what you will want before they meet.

Through out history, women have gone through phases of careers and family. In the mid to late 1800s, a large number of women entered in to academia, completely putting off families. Birth rates dropped during this period. Then by the 1900s, women were entering back in to the home.

The feminist movement did what any other political and economic interference does; it exacerbated the fluctuations, and severely in the opposite direction. One of the issues is with population. We are no longer having enough children to replace the loss of life, and the number is leading to a population change large enough to have a major negative impact on existing life. As always, the government should not be involved in social policy.

We've been talking in generalities this entire time, no?

Look at how many women are career oriented over raising their own children. Now look at society and our culture. And you think whites are winning? You think not having a traditional lifestyle in the household is the best for a nation? The best for a community?

I have said time and time again that men failed society, but women ruined it. If this current female mentality is in this state then the US is doomed. I'm an optimist but even I have doubts that this society can function any further given the mentality of women in 2022.

The problem with career woman is that the more they advance in their career, the less options they have because successful guys don’t give a phuck about a woman’s career. A successful woman will have a hard time dating someone that makes less then them ded fkn srs.

If you want to genuinely look at that, the answer is colleges.

Colleges are hotbeds of radical BS taught by professors that cannot function outsite of academia or the public sector. The areas that women choose to study lean more towards the subjective disciplines, with more room for professors to insert BS.

So more women going to college, added to majors that are more susceptible to BS = an increasing numbers of women who are told they are oppressed and cannot be happy unless they do XYZ.

If women in college were give the chance to work out who they are/want to be, instead of having propaganda rammed down their throats 24/7, things would go a lot better.

Men aren't subjected to as much propaganda and have more freedom to go where their own individual likes and wants would take them.

Every chick wants a career until they don't.

Srs. At least for christian girls who are from higher socioeconomic circles a career is more or less considered something to entertain themselves with until they find a husband who they can have kids with. Then many of them become stay at home moms who raise kids, socialize, work out, and do whatever he hell else they want to do.

It's kinda funny imo how society rails against stay at home moms but they're the ones who lead the most fulfilling lives fr.

I mean what's the end goal of a career woman? Rising the ranks? Making money? Proving something to themselves or someone else?

Cough cough look at silencespeaks. Her life is legitimately terrible, will probably an hero at some point in the near future.

Colleges = Career women. The entire premise of this thread. I don't expect a 52 year old divorcee female miscer (rabbit) to understand how bad colleges have gotten culturally and based on propaganda. Yet fathers actually send their daughters away to these propaganda camps and have the gall to complain about their daughters behavior.

Yea men get the opposite end of the propaganda, but at the same time we are much more non-agreeable compared to women. Also young men in a group are the most powerful thing in this world. That's why they are trying to isolate, deflate and depress, and make sure young men are alone.

The other two things that are so shocking to me and are never discussed are how many teenage girls are fed birth control (hormone suppressors) and anti-depressants.

But nope! Career women equals strong women! They need to get fukked a bunch, go through high level financial stress and navigate a dangerous world in cities alone as a weak female to get "experience" before marriage!

The world is so fukked up.

I don't think the formative influence needs to be the mother.

The most predictably successful children seem raised by those in the jesuit system. This is sort of a grindset where they're not always around and structured around the catholic church / jesus. The design of Jesuits is "detachment" so they do not really offer rigid class, even though this seems like the best strategy for raising classy children by evidence of those raised this way.

Nah, it is fine for a woman to have a career. Society is still adjusting to it, but things are progressing quickly now as things settle into place.

Oh yea? Then why are females all on ssri's, depressed, on birth control, initiate 70%+ of divorces and career women are statistically the most depressed sub group in the US?

It's not fine. It should not be normalized. It's literally destroying the family unit and birth rates. It's a cycle of evil that has destroyed the fabric of society and culture within the family.

Don't forget females biological clock. I know many females in my field who are depressed and just end up hating men because no one wants a 30+ career-obsessed woman who can't even have kids.
