the nation stopped for Bond in that era. Royal premieres and enormous television audiences. Thats credit to the care put into them and Moore fitting the role perfectly. No, its not at all what was in the books, but these remain the most endlessly rewatchable Bond films.

there isnt a sequence post Moore that even comes close to this

I really like Moore too. People go on about how suave and slick Brosnan was, but I think Moore was just as good. His comedic timing and charm was godly.

Brosnan was a good Bond for sure, and Goldeneye was a great movie. He got stuck with a 3 stinkers in a row after that though.

Moore > Brosnan. Wasn't too big a fan of Live and Let Die or The Man With The Golden Gun, but the rest of his were good to great.

All us Brits will give you different answers.

For me, Daniel Craig in Casino Royale was peak coming off his amazing Layer Cake performance.

Casino Royale is the highest IMDB rated Bond film & Skyfall is the 2nd and so I'd ignore the Craig hate on here.

They are all pretty much the same...expect Pierce Brosnan who is the worst one by far.

All Bond movies are similar when you watch/think about them, but Brosnan's are bad and fall during a really bad Bond era.

Daniel Craig's Casino Royale is the only stand out film of the lot, it exceeds the rest by far.

Casino Royale didn't use that much CGI if I remember correctly. In fact, it's one of the big changes compared to Die Another Day. Way more grounded.

I always liked Brosnan even though objectively he isn't the "best" Bond. Probably because he was the Bond I grew up with.

Sean Connery was it for sure. Owned every scene he was in and was basically set the foundation for how the guy should be from then on.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Obviously Moore, but Lazenby could have been the best. Probably the biggest ever acting tragedy in the history of movies that his idiot agent told him not to do another.

except Moore was smart enough to do the exact opposite. Everyone who has tried to do a Connery has spaffed it up

you dont remember correctly

first scene on the crane is mostly cgi.

if you cant actually do the stunt.. dont do it. A simple rule for making a movie, but since that complete idiot barbara broccoli has been in charge, it has failed to be followed

That's a stunt double I think. The crane jump was done legitimately. they wore wires that were digitally erased.
