Another: in "It's a Wonderful Life" when he returns from the bridge and no-one realizes what he just went through and is happily back to reality.

Underrated one is when the father in Mary Poppins has a similar realization and goes to spend time with his kids.

The Family Man, when he happily trades his privileged penthouse lifestyle in NYC for a family in the burbs.

Those 3 sort of hit home, not sure why. I guess it sort of happened in real-life. A senior master sergeant broke down crying at his retirement ceremony after realizing he worked too much and spent too little time with his family. But at least he realized it and hopefully changed.

The epic rant about the human condition in Fight Club is pretty good too.

Those are the times I really cherish, they don't come often.

I have seen the play as well. The movie has a stellar cast- I identified with Roma quite a bit. That frustration with the situation.

I had that experience once this year - hiking to the top in Sequoia, where the lakes are. It was completely peaceful - no other humans around. My wife and I (we practice Vipassana) meditated there for an hour. We didn't speak for an hour after that. That moment is one we'll cherish for the rest of our lives.

Thanks for sharing that. You really must have gone through a lot to feel that true "sense of belonging".

It is one I have found more common in rural areas than big cities too.
