When ketchup is considered a serving I can see it lol.

Actually great question Opie. Especially interesting is that multis don't seem to do jack chit. It's also been shown that very low calorie diets result in long life. You might be onto something.

My .02c, the push for “eat more fruits and vegetables for a healthier diet” is misguided. And should just be “eat less calories” for most people

I could go on and on but here’s a few points

- many people prepare their vegetables in a chit ton of oil and butter or sugar to make them taste good. Fat people wondering why they aren’t losing weight eating 1000 calorie salads

- Vitamin/mineral content isn’t as much as you think in vegetables. Look at how much spinach you’d need to eat to get 100% DV of Iron. Not what the Popeye cartoon made you think. Some veggies like lettuce contain nothing. Processed foods are fortified to the brim with vitamins and minerals. And you can supplement with multi if you really want.

- You can just take a fiber pill if you need to supplement. You can get fiber from non leafy green vegetables effectively like corn

- Most fruit is just sugar with nothing else

- I think the antioxidant thing is BS

Low calorie diet = low body weight

Less work your heart has to do. Less work your other organs have to do as well. Less blood that has to be filtered and pumped around. Less bile and stomach acid your body needs to produce. Etc

Whether you’re fat or muscular. Being skinny is the best for longevity. It’s like driving a truck around with a full payload and expecting to get as many miles as an empty truck

Its very easy. I know I certainly did, especially if you live on a lot of land with a large garden. Growing up, my parents often had so much yield in their garden they didn't know what to do with it (squashes/peppers/mandarins/nectarines) so my dad would have us collect them in boxes and hand them out to the neighbors in the neighborhood.

If you have 2 fully grown orange trees, the oranges will fall and rot on the ground before you can eat them all. The same applies to onions, garlic, jalapeno peppers and tomatoes...although there's not much you can do with it them but make copious amounts of salsa.

Romaine lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, frozen blueberries/strawberries, a banana, and apple juice. Throw it in a blender with some ice.

That basically covers all nutrients and vitamins your body needs. It also tastes like a fruit smoothie, not like veggies. Throw some yogurt in there for an even more smoothie taste.

eating a truckload of vegetables everyday fills you up and therefore people eat less chit food and lose weight.
Fruit as well, although more in moderation. They say to eat a colorful plate. I bake apples so they taste like apple pie without the crust, I poach pears in red wine sauce, make cauliflower gratin, etc.

I also put spinach and kale in protein smoothies with bananas.

I eat about 6 different veggies daily. Not a big veggie fan but I cut them up small and cook them so they are all mixed together.

That way I get some in my system. its always the same ones, some root, some greens. Of course I eat a tremendous amount of fats and meat too along with grains like white rice mainly.

I am sure they have some health benefit but mainly they are also tasty, cheap and filling.

Vegetables are largely water with some nutrients so the fiber is probably more beneficial that anything actually in them.

I get that organic meal delivery service Daily Harvest which will also mix in veggies such as cauliflower rice in oat bowls and smoothies so you don’t know it’s there. I always order a variety so I can have different fruits and veggies each day.

I buy fresh fruits and veggies from Whole Foods as well as they taste so much better.

I’m in my 50s and don’t want to get cancer.

Smoothies like that are a game changer, there is really no excuses for anyone not to get in their fruit and veggies if they got a vitamix or blendtec blender, just make a smoothie and drink it for breakfast you can even throw in a scoop of unflavored whey isolate natural.

not all vegetables are created equally

iceberg lettuce is basically chit tier as far as nutrients go.

eat a ton of broccoli, carrots, spinach, onions. add chili peppers where you can. they contain some very unique compounds proven to be beneficial. eat mushrooms too while you're at it.

I am MASSIVELY allergic to celery.

It smells and tastes like a hot pepper to me.

I can literally smell it at great distances.

What is toxic about it?
