For now I'd like to have it delete a post every 5 seconds. It all depends on artificial wait timers between tasks and how fast I can make it check that it's clear to go to next task.

Haven't ran into that issue yet.. would just run a check for closed threads before or after loading a thread (whenever thread state is identifiable in html)

Use an explicit wait with some expected condition (like wait until element is visible)

Use a try/catch...inside the try, wait until element (The popup close button) is visible...then click it. Set a default timeout like 30 seconds to wait for the popup...if it hits the catch, it probably means the popup didn't come up (catch the specific exception thrown after 30 seconds) and don't do anything inside the catch.

Try/Except is my weakness haha, def have to work on that. Also good point about the wait. I did see it in the documentation, but alas I didn't try it out yet. This script could be so much better if I made sure each process did the right thing by waiting/checking (then I wouldn't get many errors like in the OP video).

New YouTube vid in OP, version 0.2

Takes about 6 seconds to delete a post, so 1hr 40mins for 1K posts. Check the vid & do the math. I'll make it more efficient as you can see in the vid it went a bit fast at one point & didn't completely delete a post(somehow, with element waits enabled). unless that thread is locked (would have to check)

few suggestions

- make it more than firefox (enter C for chrome, E for edge, etc)
- ask them if they want the browser in headless mode (so you don't have to see the actual browser)...speeds things up
- remove the thread sleeps as this isn't ideal and replace with waits instead (wait until element is clickable, visible, etc depending on what you are doing to the element)

They're gonna install Chadfox and like it. I suppose I could give options in the future (hopefully I wouldn't have to tweak too much or anything at all). Never knew about headless browsers, will research. I removed sleeps in thread & only have waits now. Will look into visibility/clickability as I currently only use presence_of_element(s)_located

yeah, it's part of the same webdriver library I believe so shouldn't be hard to add them

presense of elements I think means it's in the DOM (even hidden elements would return true)...so the area of the element can be 0

visible means exists...ontop it means it's actually on the page (elements area is not 0) but it could be disabled (think a disabled button that you can't click)

clickable means visible...ontop of that, you can actually interact with it (can click the button)

if you check clickable, you know it's also visible and exists
if you check visibile, it exists but may not be clickable
if you check exists, it may not be visible or not clickable

I'm surprised you remembered what you studied lol. Was impressed you could read my messy code and find bugs. I'll have to refactor, use try/except properly to catch stuff, and write more reusable code. I want it to be seamless and not straight up quit because of a bug or it finished removing every possible post.

EDIT: my new desk arrived. setting it up. will upload pic of desk when i'm finished haha

EDIT2: desk is set up with my PC but no ethernet cord long enough for internet, lol. prob won't finish ver0.4 tonight but will see what I can do. going to set the place but and get comfy.

running script now. will find if possible to identify locked threads without loading page cuz god damn does it slow down the process. now that the script is more stable and whatnot, after a bit more fixes and small features, i'll look into headless mode & adding ability to choose, Edge, Firefox, or Chrome.

lmfao... at the programs current speed, about 100 hours. sorry brah. now, when I make it more efficient by adding headless browser mode and opening 5 threads at once, it should speed up tremendously (hopefully lul)

New version 0.7 is out. It opens 5 tabs. Lmk if you run into any bugs. This is the least tested version as I've def been throwing too many requests at BB.com lol. Hope you all enjoy it. I will just be adding stability and compatibility from now on with browsers and different operating systems since Windows is the only one where it works perfectly. I have macOS, so I'll test on that today and Linux later this week. I honestly just want to get the code correct before trying to get it working properly on other platforms. My posts took a nosedive and testing this code has been annoying lol, but here we go with a hopefully decent program that fulfills your needs.
