Happened across the r/overemployed subreddit. Blablabla reddit hate aside, there are probably some useful tidbits of information to be found there on this topic.

youre too late to the game. 2023 will be massive crash and even more layoffs, they barely started, most WFHcels are getting laid off
All the more reason to overemploy yourself. If you lose one job, you'll have a backup.

Besides, the crash is only happening in the FAANGs. As long as you're not dead-set on those "internet meme careers" (working for Google/Meta/Apple etc) you'll be fine.

That applies to most people, but double the salary (even if its two $70k jobs) supersedes the dislike of work.

remember these jobs individually are not hectic jobs they're jobs that only have, at best 4 or maybe 5 hours of work per day. So with 2 jobs you're still basically working 8 hours per day.

I've heard WFH jobs are some of the first to get cut when layoffs are considered, at least recently. Probably a good idea to keep one you prioritize and the other jobs are lower on the totem pole if you have a conflict. My job isn't WFH but I could if I really wanted to. I do have a ton of flexibility and have since COVID, and do feel like I have job security. Tossing around the idea of looking for a WFH side gig that I can use to pay some things off and/or buy a car with but not high on my priority list.

I looked into this the past few years since I’ve been full time WFH since right before Covid. I think it’s a great option for a few years to stack some cash and invest it properly.

For me I figured my efforts and free time are better utilized working my way out of corporate America rather than leaning further into it. Entrepreneurship can more than double your income if you can establish a business with write offs and depreciation.

However I’m interested to hear about the experience….who knows maybe I’ll try it

I know some programmers who do this. Some jobs just ask for less
