If the US is in an unethical war then no one should fight or support it. That's what would help America.

It's the same principle as Germans during WWII. After many Germans said they weren't interested in Nazis etc but they just went along with it because everyone else seemed to be interested.

I think you would have to move to a country with no extradition to the US.

However, the US would then mark you for arrest and likely cancel all social security benefits, etc.

You would have to move and stay in the country where you moved to.

Canada and college are your best options. I suppose Mexico is looking better than Canada tho.

Honestly the only reason I wouldn't serve again is because how ungrateful people are for the way of life veterans have provided. Part of me almost wants us to fail because of how useless and privileged people have become.

If it came down to the safety of my family and my country ill join but lets be realistic here… World war 3 starts and nukes will be launched and how will they enforce a draft in those conditions? Srs

Its legit going to be pure chaos and i dont think the average American is prepared or ready for what this nation is about to face of we go to war with Russia and China.

I did my time, and I hated the military. I made some good friends and went through the good times and bad times, but I also dealt with severely toxic leadership and dick measuring contests that are there. The common soldiery is a joke. I absolutely would not serve again unless I got a sweet deal to go through SFAS/Q Course. The relationships I have now with vets in the contracting world are much better than with the people I served with in the military.

From lectures and books that I have read about the Vietnam war, people chose the medical route to get out of fighting. In one circumstance, someone ate pizza for six months straight to put on enough weight to disqualify himself. There were so many people disqualified, the military had to start recruiting the mentally retarded. They were called McNamara’s morons. They failed every acuity test, but were still sent to war. To give you an example, these individuals didn’t know how to tie their shoes, nor did they know their left from their right.

So I guess the point is, your two options would be to join the military and choose a skill and career path that would least likely see combat, or figure out some medical way out

I loved what it could have been, hated what it had become. Once I deployed though, that's when things got good. IDK why it sucks so bad stateside. The officels were toxic AF, no doubt. Got in trouble a bit just cuz I didn't play politics, all worked out in the end though.
