Ive just accepted that everyone is picky and has particular opinions with this. I though ff7r was incredible. Best action jrpg combat I've played. but then some people hated it.

And 16 so far looks incredible to me but still some dont like it. Just different opinions.

I'm still sad it's going full DMC mode, but the combat looks very good and fun and it's an interesting change. At least we got FF7 rebirth for that sorta turn based chit.

I feel like FF7R is very button mashy. Like the amount of square spamming in that game, especially if you're making use of the best movelist in the game @ Tifa. Maybe it's because I play at higher difficulty but I'm always pressing buttons during combat in that game.

I'm already sweating thinking how button mashy FF16 will be. Especially as I'm finishing up Spiderman here which has alot of repetitive square spamming as well lmao

I'm hopeful its not going to be very mashy, DMC5 has the best combat ever, so I trust the combat developer from it will get the job done. Hopefully it has some harder difficulty settings where mashing just wont cut it.

Dunno man just felt clunky to me

I was playing stuff like Ghosts of Tsu, Scarlet Nexus, Horizon around that time.. and while different the combat just felt more fluid/fun

Not a fan of mix action/tactical either because rarely is it done as well as say DMC 5 (action) or say more tactical (Dragon age Origens)

Also FF7 customization of character just felt ****

Once FF7R’s combat clicks for you and you really starting rolling, it’s actually awesome. Playing through on hard mode was really fun. I hope they don’t change it too much for part 2 and 3. Yuffie from the dlc was op as fuk though so we’ll see.

Same for me. Was iffy on the combat until I really got the flow down. I prefer it to the original turn based only combat in the original now. I still love turn based combat though cuz I'm a huge fukin nerd.

I do this with movies, but for games I cant resist. I like building the hype for myself, plus seeing 20 mins of gameplay isnt much when a game is 35 hours etc.

I get where you're coming from. I just imagine those cool scenes you saw, what it would be like never having knowledge of them until they show up on your screen for the first time and you're like fuarrrk. It's happened to me several times. Up to now I know literally 0 of how Ragnarok looks besides the Sony teaser trailer and I've seen zero combat in Elden ring. I have no clue about any locations or bosses. None at all.

But I mean, everyone freaks out about them so I know it's gonna slap.

Pacing was indeed rushed. First half was alright though exploring the world, fishing, and setting up camp with the bros. Everything went to hell after Altissia. I could deal with the ending but fuark they went in with no lube. Game should've been longer.
