Why is Bragg so quick to file charges if he doesn't have all the facts? He did the same exact thing with Jose Alba. However, in Alba's case, he had all exculpatory CCTV footage from the bodega and he still pressed charges. If it wasn't from all the media and community backlash, he probably would have kept Alba locked up.

In any event, he just dropped charges against Garage Worker due to that same backlash.

-Thief had at least 20 prior arrests
-Garage Worker had never been arrested and is an upstanding family man


Luckily, Garage Worker had an attorney working on his behalf, who was in contact with the DA's office since yesterday.

Thief is probably a well known problem in the NYC area, but they still have to label him as "suspected".

Police in Austin respond quickly to my calls. They say the average time is like 20 minutes but it's always been under 10 for us, but we also have an officer liason who ensures our area has proper policing.
