all critics basically think like her and thats why she-hulk is critic rated 80% audience rated 33% and mario is 56% critic rated and 96% audience rated.
Oh I'm well aware. Basically...

"This movie respected the fanbase and lore?! It didn't browbeat them and struggle session them about modern day politics?! Kids enjoyed it?! It provided escapism?! 0/10!"

It was fun time, the story was very basic and I thought some of the song choices/singing were weird but overall pretty much the best you can expect.

Will probably see it with the family this Friday. Atm, Sonic is the best video game movie I've seen. Got high hopes for Mario.

If I had kids I'd take them to see this movie but by myself? Nah. can't imagine how many 40 year old soy redditors are going to freak out and wait in line over this movie.

Saw it yesterday with my son and nieces. We all enjoyed the movie. Solid 8-8.5/10 as a lifelong mario fan. Don't want to spoil, so all I'll say is they put that jumpin there. Only the die hard racers will notice.

just saw this in 3d
solid movie, i enjoyed seeing the mario lore on the big screen. much better than warcraft
the sound track was hype

After seeing Super Mario Bros yesterday I gotta say I was pretty refreshed. It was the first movie I saw in over a year close to two years and It didn't disappoint and I think the points made by Critical Drinker were agreeable. The MCU is spiraling downhill with only Spiderman and Dr. Strange keeping any vestige of the comic book franchise alive. DC is playing it safe releasing a quality DC film once every couple years and since DC is a bit more darker than Marvel they usually don't have to worry about having their films saturated with woke PMA garbo.
Super Mario film showed that the future can be bright for video game adaptations, pushing animation and color to heights rarely ever scene on the big screen. the Sonic movies and Detective Pikachu were a bit average but not terrible. I can only imagine what else Nintendo is capable of doing in the cinema arena. Def seeing a sequel based off the amazing numbers and records being broken by this film alone. Given how big the Nintendo universe is it's exciting to see what other films might be cooking up on the horizon.

There's an easter egg at the end of the credits that 100% confirms there's going to be a sequel with Yoshi. And I agree, the Nintendo universe is huge - the possibilities they can conjure up are almost endless

If they're not working on a NCU (Nintendo cinematic universe) with a Super Smash Bros magnum opus (like the Avengers movies) I will be disappointed. I'm sure we'll get a Mario sequel but next they should give Donkey Kong his own movie, then Metroid and Zelda. Star Fox could be pretty cool too.

I will fully embrace a takeover by Video Game Cinematic Universes to replace the capeshiit glut.

You're right about the potential; I fairly recently watched some Youtube overview on the original Super Mario Bros. movie and they mentioned how a Zelda or even Metroid might have fared better to a live action adaption, but now the possibilities really are endless.

Sonic 1 was great. Sonic 2 was even better because we got knuckles and tails.

It wasn't great.

It was good for the nostalgia if you grew up on Mario.

Could have been better.


But its important that it does well, so hopefully Nintendo stops being such kunts to their IPs and maybe we can get a legit Zelda movie

I had no idea he did the voice, that really is perfect casting. Even the look is somehow uncanny:


The one clip I had seen of Knuckles was well done and actually funny, but again I didn't know that Tails was in it, too.

Saw the movie a couple of days ago.

I absolutely loved it. This is a video game movie done right.

Anyone who has played the games in their life would enjoy this.
