Freedom is clearly a foreign concept for you.

Corporate entities that are above the law dump more waste inside an hour than the waste your entire bloodline has collectively accumulated across human history.

But sure, kill your unborn, raise pets instead of kids, stop using gas stoves and air conditioning, stop eating meat and eat bugs instead...it's not dehumanizing. Not one bit!

it sounds like there should be an obvious middle ground here. Design a city with an attempt to have as much as possible within 15 minutes walk...but not illegal if some things fall outside this scope. it would still cut down on people driving, who cares if it is only 85% is within 15 minutes and some stuff is outside that range. can still use public transport if this is the case or uber, and people would still drive significantly less.

Why is there an idea that cars can't be allowed at all and that it has to be 100% everything is restricted to this range?

All I see is a bunch of major citiesplanningto do this - Barcelona, Spain, Shanghai, Paris. But most of them are only targeting a few amenities - parks, schools, etc.

I guess I'm referring to designs I've seen of urban environments that are largely vertical, and would actually have virtually everything you need as opposed to a few critical things. I mean, think about how many different shops and stores would need to be nearby.
