Cardio is important, but when looking at things purely from a weight loss perspective, getting the average person to worry about diet is far more productive than getting them to worry about cardio.
That cardio is for your heart, and yeah, some people, especially women, don't have the willpower to give up something like a muffin.

I remember this female co-worker looking at a website on tips for weight loss. She drinks like 2 grande, whole milk lattes a day. Now in my logical mind, I didn't want to "Mansplain" to her, that if she switched those two drinks with straight black coffee, she'd probably be cutting about 500-600 calories from that alone.

My BIL just did an ironman last weekend and he's in really good shape. Pretty sure biking, swimming, and running all count as cardio.

I would imagine they're talking more to absolute beginner and saying they need a weight training base.

The rationale is that lifting makes muscles better at burning fat.

So lifting plus cardio will produce far better results than doing "double cardio".

It's an old video, from last year I believe. I remember when I worked at GNC about 20 years ago, we had his book for sale. Remember skimming through it, and I still don't get, other than his looks, what makes him so special.

Yeah, he's strong as ****, but it's that con game that people like him do, that whole, "I'm not gifted with genetics, I'm not better than you, I'm natural, be better than me shtick."
