Why do no pro athletes live to 100+ if exercise is good for you?

Just today I was hearing some dude from Taiwan talking about going back home to visit his mom who's turning 100....I bet she's like 5 foot 100lbs.I don’t think so. One of the keys to longevity is calorie restriction. Which is why you usually see these frail old men and women that never worked out in their lives and eat like 1 bowl of soup all day, they live to like 110-115 etc.

you don't need a whole lot of exercise to live long. just don't be sedentary, do some resistance training 1-2x a week. the threshold isn't that high. also keep a healthy bodyweight and don't eat complete garbage and at copious amounts.

I'd guess that for most once their pro athlete playings days are over, they stop exercising lots and stop eating well. Just thinking about it, many former pro athletes look overweight and relatively unhealthy.
I can remember reading about Japanese sumo wrestlers. While they are pro wrestlers they eat a strict diet, and exercise lots. Few pro sumo wrestlers have diabetes. Once their pro sumo days are over they tend to develop diabetes at a higher level than average. And diabetes type 2 tends to short a persons life span by about a decade I believe.

IDK that I would want to see the future as a young man let alone 100 years old.

If I’m perfectly healthy, strong and fit, I’d rather croak at 70 than live in pain for decades.

For me feeling good physically is feeling tight and strong.
I'm sure those people feel good as well but I doubt they feel the same feeling of being as sturdy and tight.

a lot of pro athletes are just living for the here and now. They're lifemaxxing to fill the current potential and not worry about saving anything for the future
I know a guy who's a legit pro athlete and he said he doesn't want to live that long. Some probably don't want to watch themselves age

Have to figure that pro athletes most likely didnt have that great of diets.
The constant travel and moving around simply arent conducive to a consistent diet.
Even today with all sorts of nutritional knowledge and advancements, they will still end up eating out all the time even though they are trying to keep good with the diet. Look at baseball players. Constantly moving every couple days from hotel to hotel. That alone is unhealthy, then add weird hours and the actual playing the game into it all and its 9 months of the year just trying to do their best.
A regular person has all day to go to the store, prepare decent meals and eat right at normal times.
Thats not even mentioning the performance enhancing things athletes basically have to do anymore to keep their jobs.
All those little things are going to add up. Just like if you ignore little bits and bobs of vehicle maintenance. Eventually bigger problems are going to come up and some will be too late to fix.

"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Living to 100 is probably 70% genetics and 30% life habits. You can be as healthy as you want but if your genes are crap you're going to die of some illness and you didn't have a chance to stop it.

Then there’s the blue zone people, certain areas where people live the longest. They usually do daily activities like gardening, maybe live in hills where they walk up and down every day, they have community, eat Mediterranean diet etc.

Moderation is key
I think that's how some 100 year olds get away with smoking, drinking, and eating fat food
None of the old people are obesecels or addictcels

honestly why would you want to live until 100?
At that age you become so frail and weak and can't even wipe your own ass. probably blind and deaf too.
the body is an organic thing that breaks down over time. at 100 your body will be shot and you'll probably be miserable.
