i've been saying for years that the internet after 2000 went on to kill originality and the ability for stuff to grow organically in different places. now all people have been assimilated to the virtual world…nothing is special anymore…just a bunch of people striving for attention any way they can. if you seen one phone addicted person under 30 you've seen them all

Before they went woke, Target was the go to place to play the newest releases of video games in the 1990s. Anyone remember the VHS section with a tv hooked up and the latest kid's film was playing 24/7? Underneath the tv were a bunch of VHS tapes of whatever movie was on at the time. That's how I watched the first Power Rangers movie.

90s was a great decade. Like an eternal summer. After 9/11 the tour was over and we entered a post-truth world.

Chasing girls around the roller skating rink and playing arcade games with this blasting in the background.

Then going home and playing Nintendo and watching Space Jam during a sleepover wit the Boyz while eating as much candy and pizza as I possibly could.

Playing kick the can or cops and robbers with the neighborhood kids and meeting people from all the different Catholic schools and private schools. Always girls just hanging around in groups watching us playing. I’m one of 6 kids (5 boys and we’re all 2 years apart) so we had kids knocking up at our house for every game when people were needed. By 9pm-10pm there would by fire flys everywhere.
Come home and watch ESPN Sportcenter when it was actually all about sports and Allen Iverson and Michael Jordan were my heroes and I would make some bagel bites before bed.

I was born in 1987. 90s were a glorious time for me. All the way to the age of 13.
You are your thoughts. Life is perception, thoughts are perception, perception is reality ergo thoughts are reality, I think therefore I am.

No way, life peaked in the 70's. Before social media, mobiles, wasting life way in front of screens. Popular music was much better, more creative. Films relied on acting and clever storylines not just special effects and too much action!
Life was less complicated and people seemed happier, far less over weight and with less emotional issues. People were also far less sensitive to criticism and more tolerant.
I'm generalizing but the 1970's seemed a good time to me.

Ah yes…the good old, "the time period when I was a child was better than any other time period"
"of course people have nostalgia for their childhood era, but I was born in the 50s and I can still tell you the 90s was the last GREAT era. After 9/11 it was all downhill from there. The 90s was the last era of the American dream"

I remember growing up with no Internet, I'd be out playing on the park all day, if it was raining it was an hour on the snes if I'd been good, or watching one of the 20 VHS tapes I had.
We didn't have sattelite TV, just 4 channels, on a Friday and Saturday night those channels went OFF, Premier movies, the best TV shows, all great stuff.
I remember British pub culture, when you moved to a new area to meet people you went down the pub, everyone from the local area used to be in the pub on a Saturday afternoon socialising and making connections, beer was affordable, whenever anyone had a party it was at the pub and it'd be a lock in until 4am, hnnnnng.
Pub culture has been totally destroyed now and nobody knows their neighbours.
There wasn't all this woke culture, people used to laugh at PC, trannies barely existed, gays were still seen as weirdos, people still had pride in their country, women who were sloots were shamed and shunned, divorce was still looked down upon.
You could own a house on a single income and live comfortably, even just on a tradie wage like my dad.
No social media, no tinder, no whoring
Man if only I knew what was coming in the future, I wish I'd savoured it more.

I don't think anyone is nostalgic for the 10's, what a dumpster fire decade. 20's has been even worse.

It's like the 70's and 80's were great decades as well, but the 90's is basically the last hurrah of 20'th century America, and the technology was GOAT, perfectly balanced, before it took over people's lives.
