It amazes me that so many Americans are too dumb to see how bad this is. I was taught in school that tyrannical governments try to jail any political opposition that threaten their power.

Is it okay for the United States to do it too?

Look how many people are cheering this on. God forbid you have someone that's willing to speak for the people and not Washington lobbyists.
You're being way too one sided and dramatic with this.

The US government isn't perfect but it's far from tyrannical, and one aspect of tyranny is to ignore (alleged) crimes committed by the elite/ruling class.

So yes, it's okay for the US Gov to do this within our established justice system. Unlike the regular people who he is supposedly speaking for, Trump will enjoy limo rides to his day in court on the people's dime. So fuk him if he broke laws the rest of us would be quietly disposed of for breaking. To me that's the opposite of tyranny.

We’ll see man. It may help him in the primary, but it puts Trump in a tough spot. If he wins the nomination and loses the election, chances are he will rot in a prison cell for the rest of his life.

If he drops out and another Republican wins, they might pardon him, but no guarantee. I don’t want this considering most Republican politicians are spineless cucks including DeSantis.

However if Trump wins the election himself, he’s going to absolutely clean house and drain the swamp. I have zero doubt about it, I don’t think he gives a fuk anymore about playing politics or scoring wins for the party.

CNN is also reporting that Trump was caught on tape admitting he missed his opportunity to declassify documents that were given to him while president. Transcripts show the documents he discussed include Miley’s plans to invade Iran that Trump was against.

Anyone who has been paying attention to politics knows the Neocons have had bloodlust to bomb Iran for decades. They tried to get Bush to do it, but it was too close to the ‘08 election and the idiots thought McCain had a chance. Then the entire 2012 GOP primary was basically a long debate about whether to bomb Iran. Ron Paul was the only one speaking out against the military industrial complex and they rigged the primary against him. Looks like Trump is just another victim of the MIL.

Very sad our country is controlled by warmongers.

Conservatives out here actually arguing against checks and balances that prevent autocracy.

These people were never intelligent, but the MAGA movement combined with its perpetual losses since 2016 has removed any tiny remnant of higher brain function they may have once had. It's remarkable.

But if so, then this just broke about the recording:

-----

Former President Donald Trump acknowledged on tape in a 2021 meeting that he had retained “secret” military information that he had not declassified, according to a transcript of the audio recording.

“As president, I could have declassified, but now I can’t,” Trump says, according to the transcript.

The transcript of the audio recording suggests that Trump is showing the document he’s discussing to those in the room. The recording captures the sound of paper rustling, as if Trump was waving the document around, though is not clear if it was the actual Iran document.

“Secret. This is secret information. Look, look at this,” Trump says at one point, according to the transcript. “This was done by the military and given to me.”

Trump continues: “All sorts of stuff – pages long, look. Wait a minute, let’s see here. I just found, isn’t that amazing? This totally wins my case, you know. Except it is like, highly confidential. Secret. This is secret information. Look, look at this.”
so they claim trump said this on some recording.
as anyone heard the recording or identified who was in the room?
i haven't seen any of that yet.

they didn't find these documents when they raided him.
but somehow he destroyed the documents they didn't find in the raid by plugging the drain in his pool and causing a flood?

okay jeff.

The recording will out at trial prior to his conviction. Idiot plebs like you don't have a need for the prosecution's case in advance.

Strong whataboutism. But if you want to compare Trump to Biden regarding documents, that's fair. Here's a question....how many subpoenas to return classified documents and government property did Biden defy as compared to how many did Trump defy?

Maybe, maybe not. Don't get too cocky. Try thinking of the pros/cons from the opposite perspective and compare with an open mind.

Trump isn't going to jail...this is just like the student loan bs. The Dems knew that **** was illegal, but they can blame the Republican congress and the Supreme Court. "Hey we TRIED!" Same with indicting Trump. Nothing will come of it, and they will flip the script and say it's because of an obvious bias in the justice system.

Communists are idiots, but the people who believe them are even dumber.
