Can't deny I do look a lot better when I eat healthie, leaner and more full at the same time; work makes it hard at times. I guess everything makes an impact and when you're top tier every littler bit makes a difference.

keep coping then if you think they only win due to genetics.

The mr. olympia runner up has 10/10 genetics, the difference in what is achievable for BBer's at that level due to genetics is miniscule. The only reason one looks better than the other is because they put in better work.

82% genetics, 18% diet 2% lifting. If you don't have the genetics for it nothing will save you.

im going to be a contrarian and say that genetics and training > Diet srs

If you have good enough genetics, you can eat anything. I was just slamming big macs and protein shakes when I looked like this

then what % is training and what % is diet?

Many in the ov 35 said it was 70/20/10
70% diet for contest shape/20% training/10% genetics

Breaking this down into percentages is pointless...

You NEED a caloric deficit to get leaner, enough protein to gain or retain muscle, & a small surplus to gain past a point. You NEED to train regularly with progressive overload and sufficient intensity to keep progressing. Everything else essentially comes down to genetics &/or drugs. Micromananging your diet beyond this will make close to no difference, and the same goes for training.

This implies that for things which are under our control, its 62.5% Diet an 37.5% training.

In terms of how you look, muscle insertions, fat storage, all that stuff I agree although I think diet and training are about equal. Especially genetic response to steroids it needs to be high to have a chance at a pro level physique

As far as just being in shape and “healthy” though I disagree genetics has that big of a role

Also diet and training are the only two of what was mentioned that we can control so thinking about your genetics is kind of a waste of time. You gotta play with the cards you are dealt

Genetics is a cop out, I've known guys who trained bench press for a month and said they reached their genetic limitation because the the weight wouldn't go up anymore, they went from benching like 70 lbs to benching 100 lbs.

Before I knew anything about proper training and diet my go to excuse for why someone was bigger and stronger than me was that my genetics were worse, you starve anyone long enough and they will resemble an ectomorph.

There shouldn't be a seperate rating for diet and training, if I didn't eat a specific diet for training my diet would be all garbage food with almost no protein, and mostly fat/sugar/sodium, and I would eat twice a day most of the time and be about 150 lbs.

And you can't simply eat a proper diet and not train, most people would just be fat or skinny/skinny fat.

If I had to guess how good my genetics were before I started training I would have said bottom tier, now that I now how to properly train and diet I can see how genetics is mostly cope and is mostly irrelavent unless its coming down to who has a better bicep peak on a bodybuilding stage or something similar, literally everyone has the capability of building an amazing physique.

Actually, it’s 0% genetics and 100% diet and exercise, because one can easily look like **** with great genetics, just as one can certainly find appropriate diet and exercise to look good with any genetics outside of obvious birth defects.

I just saw a weight management specialist Dr. and he said it's:

1. Medication -- Wegovy or Ozempic to help those with genetics for obesity
2. Diet - 100g of protein, 1500 calories and 100 carbs a day for those who don't have eating disorders
3. Exercise - 5x a week 70% lifting 30% cardio
4. Water - 64 ounces a day
5. Fiber - 30 g a day
