60% genetics is cope.

genetics play a role in whether or not you can have elite aesthetics but basically anyone can have an insane physique compared to the population, with training and diet.

Almost agree, add in genetic response to intramuscular chemicals.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

60% genetics only makes sense if you look at it from a top 1% perspective. You can't become Mr Olympia without top tier genetics. But for your average gym goer genetics definitely don't make up 60% of the equation.

Cope. It's

60% Diet
25% Training
10% Genetics
5% Luck/Circumstance

I used to be a little bish who would whine about not being "talented", but the fact is you can get to the 85th or 90th percentile in most anything if you work hard enough at it. Genetics only matter at the elite level where everyone is being coached with the best techniques and working hard is table stakes. To become legendary, you need a lot of right-place-right-time type of events in addition to working crazy hard, being talented, taking care of yourself on/off the court, etc.

Also, diet is way more important than training in the context of bodybuilding. You can train all you want, but you won't get abs if you don't eat well, for example. I'm actually lifting less but look better and am still making strength gains at lower BWs because I've cleaned my diet up a lot.

Meh....

IMO everybody will have a different formula for success , where most people fail is sticking with it long enough to find out what works for them and what doesnt . If they arent some 250lb shredded kent after 6 weeks they quit...

Take me for example... I eat 3 square meals @ Chipolte every single day and can get this physic with nothing more than a shake weight & ab roller.

We have debated this since 2005 and the order goes
1. diet
2. training
3. genetics
the percentages vary based on duration of training and how strict you are to the top 3 list.
yes you can grow calves but it may take 5 years.

IMO

20% genetics
20% diet
20% training
40% genetic response to chemicals...

If not on a bike.

35% Genetics
35% Diet
30% Training

Are we adding in consistency, because that would be at least 50% no matter what.

I mean some people blow up when biking, some less so; genetics effect that. You can take Mr. O I/M substances, and another person takes the same; one gets bigger/better.

I haven't watched the vid but ive seen dudes hop on juice and they get thicker, but they still look meh, where as some dudes, usually the scrawny guy with natural abs and defined pecs, turns to goku.

Ive also seen dudes who are mid, get on gear and a serious diet and they look legit, still don't have the sickening waist, shoulders and definition as the genetically gifted tho.

I feel like the guys in gear who look worse are seriously fukin up their diet and/or the chemicals are harming their health

Not sure if srs. yes the reason they won is because they work hard.

They have insane genetics and are blasting loads of gear, but so do/are all the guys on stage with them. They won because they had better conditioning and better training.

Bodybuilding aside, i feel like MMA is a good example. All these dudes are top level athletes, training and eating very similar, but their physiques can look entirely different.

Are paulo costa and yoel romero actually juice freaks (moreso than everyone else) that have way better diet and training then other dudes in their divisions or do they just have the genetic gift?

In Paulo Costa's case it's definitely the secret juice.
