Its more of an experience you enjoy with family/friends then just trying to slam down a simple meal. Also the macro's in crawfish are simply amazing. They are a great proteins source.

If you haven't had crawfish boiled in South Louisiana chances are you haven't had good crawfish though. When prepared right the taste is 9/10 for sure.

That's because whomever prepared them did not purge them properly. A properly prepared crawfish does not have a dirt taste. They should be very comparable to lobster (srs)

Crawfish don't require much effort. They are far easier then crabs once you know the technique.

JFL @ taking a whole minute to peel a mud bug. I'll knock down a whole platter of em in 10 minutes easy. Once you get the hang of the technique it's stupid easy if you aren't functionally retarded.

It’s always been a thing down here, has it started getting popular outside of south Louisiana/Tex/miss?

From what I've seen, it's pretty popular nationwide

You can find a couple of crawfish/seafood boil places in every major city now

It only takes about 10-15 seconds to get the meat out of a crawfish. You most likely don't know how to peel them.

By the time I chew/swallow I've already got the next piece ready to go.

10lbs of crawfish = 1 ounce of actual meat

No blue crab no care. Had steak, crab cakes, roasted red potatoes, and asparagus last night with béarnaise sauce. Simple yet elegant yet delicious...IF you know how to cook everything properly.

You can keep your tiny mud bugs boyos.

buriful

No. You only learned about them 15 years ago. They’ve been commercially harvested since the 1800s. Who knows how long before that people were catching their own.

Hype: promote or publicize (a product or idea) intensively, often exaggerating its importance or benefits.

Yea I know people have been eating them for a long time but it wasn't mainstream.
