China has a lot more leverage now in talks with Taiwan, Taiwan saw what happened in Ukraine when they refused to cooperate with the big dog in the region and the U.S. is sinking all of it's financial and political resources there before it goes into recession lol, Taiwan can't be feeling comfortable.

Taiwan wouldn't and shouldn't have a lot of confidence in the U.S. protecting them or looking out for their best interest when offering advisement.

If China offers Taiwan "the silver or the bullet" then it is now more likely that they take the silver, China can take Taiwan without a sound.

China is starting to hold all of the keys. Globalists love China, even if China steals all of their IP and cuts off market access to them.
China has strong leadership while the US is being misled by some geriatric insert that can't even stand up or speak coherently.

That's the idea behind strategic ambiguity.

Taiwan is functionally independent right now. There is no reason to antagonize China over meaningless words and platitudes.
Are you prepared to go fight in Ukraine for Zelenksy's high heel collection?

I don't think we should antagonize China, but here we are doing the same stupid things over a useless patch of former-Russia.

Based on the behaviors of the US in the last couple years alone, I can't fault anyone for not feeling too confident in the US and looking elsewhere.

I'd have fought for Ukraine if the western narrative were true. Unfortunately, it isn't true. It isn't totally unprovoked. Ukraine really does have a bunch of really horrible nazis making life hell for Russians there. Ukrainian law is unreasonable for the Russians there. And I think everyone knows this to an extent. If it were true, America would be liberating Ukraine right now. We would be there physically fighting.
