i think having a death grip (which is correlated with wrist size) is underrated for benching. I noticed when I was doing more grip work, the power transfer from your hands to the bar is alot better. but I think a stronger grip in general transfers to pretty much all lifts.

anyways not white, but I benched 185 for a rep when I was 15. if you are a 180 lb male you should be able to do so with a few months of serious training. add a few months if you are a 140 lb twink.

I'm a ugly 5'10 ****** and I've only been lifting for 2.5 months and can only bench 135.

Are you telling me there is something wrong with me?

I hope you mean 185kg, and i'm going to continue this post on that assumption:

One of my good friends is actually a white guy who benches 195kg raw, natty. He is however a severe genetic outlier, built like a barrel and has been lifting 20 years.

In truth, a 185kg raw bench press is a lift the vast majority of people will never be able to do without gear.

Unbelievable you guys actually thought 185 lbs. Truly amazing. And some of you aren't from the US.

Obviously it was about kg, and 185kg is more than 405lbs.

Why would he say 185kg and not 180kg to make it an even 4 plates? 185lbs is at least an obvious plate milestone.

Maybe. Maybe because the official Olympic twist collars are 2.5kg each. Aren't collars required in some competitions?

I'll admit, with over 3600 posts and a negative rep, trolling seems plausible, but to assume it was 185 lbs when he was asking about men and bench press? Nah, that seems as dumb as the question.

edit: He did specify Kg lower down on the first page when he replied to someone about 225 sans training.

BW multipliers are useless measures, but you're a lot further from 1.5x than you think.

Really? What kind of gym do you train at? If I go to my local rec centre gym its mostly young people and chicks, rarely do I see anyone hit 100kg+. If I go to my old lifting gym from years ago theres a lot of ppl there more than capable of hitting 140kg+ benches.

The numbers are for sure slowing now, in fact its been easier to just drop body weight than add pounds to my bench. I will get there though eventually
