Whenever spend time around early twenty year olds. That'll make you feel old very quickly.
I'm back, bitches!

And I didn't get married either

As far as physically, I feel fine but I've noticed it's much harder to stay lean compared to even mid 20s

Right fooking now.
36 and recovery time from gym is doubled or tripled. Need at least 9 hours of sleep. Much more sick days. Less energy.

It's actually patellar tendonitis, no broken bones. Took me like 2 years and a surgery to where I could walk and run again, but I still can't sit with bent knees, or my tendon gets fukd up again real quick. Sitting weird has fukd up my posture and my shoulder, so I haven't been able to lift upper body for 2 years now. A year ago, my left leg went to crap because it's so much weaker than my right leg (tendonitis leg) since I've done so much PT for my right leg, so it's been back to no running/walking after a 6 month break.

I'm making some progress lately after a year of stagnation, but outside of work, my life largely revolves around doing PT exercises at this point.

Sorry to hear about your buddy. What happened? I had a friend who chipped his femur snowboarding. Sounded terrible, but he was back moving again in like 2 months. I imagine a full break is probably worse though.

Is that Osgood–Schlatter disease? I had that when I was like 14 or 15 years old. Sounds like you either got a much worse case or it's a slightly different thing that has to do with the same with same tendon. Either way good luck with your recovery.

Physically I still feel the same at 35 as I did when I was 25. Then again I am maxing out my diet, sleep, exercise. I can imagine if I stopped all that my body would let itself go real fast.

Thanks brah. Likely not Osgood-Schlatter, though I had considered it since I did have that briefly as a kid as well.

Not too sure what the root cause is, but I think the cause of tendon pain/damage is my patella being out of place - it's slightly higher than my left one and discolored/blanched. It gets higher on bad days and lower on good days.

My big suspicion with it being out of place is my rectus femoris tight (which it is indeed tight). That's been pretty stubborn, but it's only been the past month or two that I've been looking into that. Direct strengthening/stretching wasn't doing much, but I am hopefully progressing with some hip/hamstring/glute work now.

I remember doing some exercises when I had Osgood-Schlatter but it'd be stupid to recommend anything to you without understanding the details of your condition. For me the biggest issue I've had with obscure medical conditions is actually getting the right diagnosis. If your healthcare cover it I'd try and go to some of the best specialists you can find.

For my ankle tumor I was misdiagnosed by like half a dozen different doctors until I decided to go to one of the best private doctors in Europe to have it checked out, and she managed to finally find the issue.

43 years old, the days of bulking and go heavy or go home are long gone, now it's about "longevity," watching my form, and getting my cardio in at least twice a week.

I've always felt old. At least I developed an IBD condition young which had me grow up quickly. When I hit around the age of 40 though i can remember seeing other guys the same age as me and thinking they looked really old. It seems around the age or 40 some guys just start to let themselves go, grow a big gut, lose the hair, etc.

I started with some super legit specialists a year ago, and they both seem really good (qualifications, attentiveness, etc.), but no dice yet. I think part of the difficulty has been that a year ago, I just had so little to go on (knee pain when sitting and not much else), whereas now, I know a bunch more about what's going on, so hopefully they'll have more to say this go around. Maybe indeed time to find more doctors if not though. We'll see on August 1rd though.

Old enough to be most of Misc Dad, feeling young as fuk crew.

But only due to many exercise, lifestyle, diet, and supplement tricks, there are lots of things I cant do that I did when I was 20.

Yeah around 30

Im still in good shape, however 30 was the age I started to get weird ailments and niggles from training, also as someone else in this thread I started getting a lot more grey

Also was the first time I got dragged to a party of 18 year old girls and I left pretty quick because I just felt like a total creep even being there (these girls were immature AF)

So yeah I can dye my hair and I still look pretty young for my age but I absoloutley do not feel like an 18-21 year old anymore and anyone over 30 who says they do is coping.

Did you ever get any kind of scans? For me the big breakthrough came when I finally started my doc pushing to get some kind of scans done. She referred me to a university hospital for an MRI, they didn't find anything and then she kept on pushing and had me do an MRI while I was hooked up on some kind of IV pumping a "contrast fluid" or something into my veins, that's when they found it.

Sounds your condition is definitely something very rare too, so 90% of all doctors might not even think to look for it. My experience with healthcare is that you definitely wanna push in every single way you can. Push to get scans and more research done, whenever you get an appointment try to set it even earlier than the dates they're trying to plan you in etc. A lot of it is in your own hands.
