Good question. There's apparently a market for people who just want to watch gameplay and "not listen to some moron talk" lol. I came across a comment from a guy who watched a non-comm YouTuber while he reads the newspaper (or something like that).

Twitch, while having no mic streamers, tends to have lower quality livestreams so the viewing experience may not be as pleasant. It's definitely a niche and I wouldn't personally do it myself unless I'm checking a game out to decide if I'd buy it or not.

The dip in views is humbling. Algorithm-sensei giveth and taketh, but we push on.

Average view duration will sort itself out as I increase video quality and become a more believable YTer.

I'm still trying to break into the Battlefield 5 market like my competitors who are on the first page of search results.

I see the top, along with everyone underneath like me.

What am I doing to differentiate myself? Nothing. I'd say I'm doing even less.

You gotta find a untapped niche to really make good cash. But YouTube has probably made the most millionaires of any company. I saw some guy post a video and he finally made a million dollars on Adsense on his youtube channel it too him 4 years to hit a million dollars.

MISC, there seems to be a downtrend in the space, but I'm running up the numbers and keeping afloat. We will not falter. There is no stopping THE MOVE. If there is a market here we will conquer it. Feeling lazy af, putting out a backlog video today, so I can go play other games, lol. That's the beauty of recording multiple vids in a day which I need to do more of. There're a ton of cheaters, so when you get the ball rolling with a good match, it's best to be recording all of them. My impressions aren't as juicy as 7 days ago, but I know when I get back near the 10K range it's over for your boy.

what are the implications of just ripping someone else's game recorded vids on to your channel? assuming it's just play through and not any other voiced over content?

YouTube can possibly detect it and inform you on ways to proceed. There's also a watermark in the bottom right of everyone's video. In the case of someone uploading your vid all you have to do is prove it belongs to you which is usually done by showing you uploaded it first (along with contents in vid like gamertag and other identifiable factors).

Snipperwolf the female youtuber you see all the time on youtube doing reaction videos makes 16 million a year, this is the perks of being a young female she has zero talent or charisma and makes more than actors and singers who have actual talent.

Daily uploads continue. Gave 2 FPS games a shot on the channel to slowly introduce other things to my small Battlefield oriented audience. I went from gaming 1-3 times a week to every single day. Will build up the backlog and TAKE SEPTEMBER BY STORM(srs). I'm going to force my videos down the throats of modern society. Even if I never reach 1K subs and this entire thing crashes and burns, they will know my gamertag.

Sure, it's a bit disheartening I have a mere 12 subs, but no one owes me their time so I'm honestly thankful for them. At the same time, I've been on YT since 05. I deserve my spot. Time to move these whippersnappers out the way for a real og. Misc, get these kids off my lawn.

you need some catchy titles and screenshots/thumbnails. ex: taking out an entire team 1v5, this didn't go as planned, or something else that's clickbait, and same with screenshots. look at what your competitors with high subscriber amount are doing. think of one of the best moments in the video, and you can try basing the title and screenshot around that.

i know a guy who's had his channel for like 17 years now, simply uploading gameplay videos all the time with generic titles and no screenshots. only has 7k subscribers after all this time.

What I've been doing is streaming me playing games on Twitch and then saving those videos to Twitch, then export to Youtube. For me, it's a really easy and quick process, but because my internet has been cutting out, sometimes the stream ends up in 4-5 videos from disconnecting. You can combine videos/clips in editing software's like Davinci Resolve (free), so even if one clip ends short, the other clip extends it into one longer video.

So, you'd add clip1.mp4 and clip2.mp4 onto the timeline of an editing software (like Davinci) then render (export) it into one finalized vid.

I'd also recommend simple thumbnails with the name of the game and episode number. You can slap that over your current thumbnails.

It all depends on how much you're willing to put in and learn when it comes to doing YT the traditional playthrough way. Do take in account you must control how your channel is perceived otherwise the algorithm can only do so much. Even if you aren't good, at least you look good. That's what matters in my case anyway.

If you are serious about making money from youtube alone, then I'll wish you luck. Been on youtube since 2006. It's not as easy as it seems. Especially after they changed it so you only get paid if your videos have over 4,000 hours viewed + needing at least 1k subscribers if you want adsense to work with your channel.

A lot of those guys have partnerships and/or invest hundreds if not thousands of dollars per video to let the algorithm notice their channel, before getting sponsored. I used to have a channel that had over one million views per video from uploading video game soundtracks and speedrunning videos. Those days are over. You really need to know how to edit and use proper clickbait titles, thumbnails + keywords.
