Sheesh. Didn't expect thread to pop off like this and with such srs responses..... Seems this is a pretty common thing just a varying levels.
Will rep who I can and will definitely watch the vids and start employing some stretches and such.
I think that will probably make a difference....or at least it's worth a shot. I am pretty tight and have noticed I have a pretty weak core especially compared to what it used to be.
Preciate all the replies so far.

I’ve had several friends have herniated discs surgically repaired in the last few years and they swear by it.
10-15 years ago I think it was a different story. But they’re all very active, big time golfers which is horrible for your back and they’re doing fine

1st, see a doc. Make sure everything is in place.
Squatting and deadlifts cured my back pain. I think I popped a rib, and it popped back deadlifting. My lower back pain that was shooting down my right leg went away as well.
Sometimes pain is caused by weakness and/or imbalance. But again, see a doc first.

Bump and in to read later because I can’t even deadlift more than 1 plate anymore due to my back pain srs. It flares up randomly too and I’ve tried various exercises like good mornings, supermans, hip thrusts and kettlebell swings to strengthen those muscles. No help.

It's like my body forgets how it's supposed to work and anything past standing straight up is foreign to it, not to mention vision affecting painful.

i managed mine.
stop doing anything that causes back pain whatsoever. eg bumpy car, sitting without lumbar support.
Never bend over to pick anything up just get on one knee.
lumbar support at ALL TIMES sitting down to stop back going into flexion.
Crack my back every night after a hot shower by hanging off a door, decompressing the spine.
Would think twice about surgery, so many studies have been done that show the results are very mixed and in most cases make it worse.

It's time to opiatemaxx for pain free bliss.
Seriously tho, as others have said, go see a doc and do imaging. Best friend had visible wear and tear on his spine in his mid 20s. Wasn't much of a lifter, but did a lot of mountain biking and had a few bad falls.
Went to physio and it helped, but the therapist would not have been able to do much without the doctor's results.

I know for me, if my stomach is upset nothing in the body is going to feel good, back included. For the past few weeks I've been dealing with back issues off and on. the pain can be bad at times. And naturally the stomach has been problematic. Here of late I've been avoiding beef and dairy products to help the gut. It seems to have worked. & thankfully the back paid has gone away also for the time being. Also I've noticed my muscles hurt less. For some time now I've had a problem with flexing and stretching my muscles. they cramp up easy. that cramping seems to have gone away on this diet. i'm guessing that is ultimately what is responsible for the back pain. As they say, time will tell.

I went to the doctor repeatedly because I needed help getting out of bed and could barely stand the pain was so severe. They told me Advil will sort that out

Standing and stretching/touching toes every day helps keep it away.

Definitely consider seeing a doctor for your lower back pain. They can offer proper medical advice based on your history and symptoms. While chiropractors have their approach, a doctor's expertise might be more suitable for your situation.

back pain is usually a symptom of other issues like tight hips or glutes.
go onto youtube and search hip mobility stretches. if you're tight as hell, that's your issue.

Your 6'6 and getting into old age, your tour is probably over, taller people are at greater risk
For me if I stop lifting, my back/hips start hurting. Deadlifts especially make my back feel good

Sitting job = pinch points to circulation = pain and gradual degradation of your back as well as potential tennis elbow, carpal tunnel etc.
Get a standing desk if possible and take plenty of little breaks to stand up and stretch.
Sitting down for 8 hours or more five days a week is so bad for you.

Go to a doctor but make sure to go to one specific to sports medicine. Back pain can be caused by all sorts of issues. Bulged/herniated discs, weakness in surrounding areas, pinched nerves, etc, but yous being chronic out of nowhere it could be something like stenosis. Same thing happened to my brother. He would randomly get flare ups like you describe but found a good doctor that has treated him appropriately. He's been limited (no back squats and deadlifts) but no flare ups and has a normal life

Sure, healed completely by doing my own research and lots of trial and error after a serious accident Three decades ago, I was told I would need surgery and live with painkillers for the rest of my life, came to a point where I couldn’t even sit, now 100% normal,
It’s best to take a shotgun approach, meaning you have to do everything, not just one or two things,
These are some of the things that I believe have made a difference,
1- stem cell therapy, if you’re poor just get the poor man’s version of that called PRP, platelet rich plasma, top tennis stars, and baseball stars do stem cell therapy, followed by four PRP injections, three weeks apart
2- acupuncture, remember if your acupuncturist is not Chinese who speaks barely any English it’s not really acupuncture
3- physical therapy, you must go a few times to learn the exercises and stretches for hip mobility and good posture, etc., this is paramount
4- getting an MRI, and an x-ray is quite helpful for various therapists and other experts to take a look and help you more exactly
5- you must give up exercises that involve overhead pressing or any pressure on the spine, no deadlifts, no squats or leg presses, no shoulder press, and no incline bench, no shrugs either, at least until you get your problem under control, it’s easy to replace these exercises with something else, so don’t worry, do not do exercises that involve torque, a.k.a. uneven pressure on your back, for example, lunges are a no-no, while hyper extensions and hip thrusts are actually good, because both sides are working equally
6- a good chiropractor can be a lifesaver, listen to your body, make sure what Chiropractor is doing feels extremely good, therapeutic and relieving, if it doesn’t feel good, you must speak up immediately or go somewhere else
7- you must supplement heavily with collagen, including type two, turmeric, and joint formula with glucosamine, and all the other usual suspects, natural painkillers, like a Ashwagandha, fish oil, arnica etc.
8- avoid sitting, when sleeping on your side, put a pillow between your knees,
9- yoga and foundation exercises on YouTube
10- improve your diet, a crappy diet will cause pain and inflammation

decompression stuff can actually cure those for the most part
Strengthening hips from running or hip exercises also makes the pain go away. Just don't do ego lifts. Fasting also seemed to calm or heal enough I can't notice much.
Apparently stem cell therapy can regrow the parts that shrink when you're 50+.
I'd just keep it strong and not do bro lifts to stress it too much.

And they were all completely unrelated, no one could have guessed the ailments unless they knew it was psychosumatic issues.
I relate the physical pain to repressed anxiety. Now that I know this, I can combat the issues with my brain.
Threw my lower back out doing nothing, and I knew it was my brain. I meditated on it for 24 hours and it was entirely gone. I'm talking I had 8/10 pain, could barely stand up, all the way to 1/10 pain, I didn't barely notice. All within 24 hours.
