What's the breakdown of that figure? Expensive cuts? Eating/ordering out? etc

I had a friend who ordered out so much he spent thousands on that ****. Literally blew through his entire 150k salary. One of the worst throw away mentality I've ever seen. This is a dude that had a car but would constantly pay for ubers because he was too lazy to drive.

If you know how much you spend on groceries that means you don’t make enough srs
Not knowing means you're irresponsible with money regardless of how much you make.

#1...my bank breaks down my spending by category.....easy to see what I spend my money on.
#2....I go to the grocery store once/week and can vaguely remember roughly how much the total was....hmm, take that # x 4.....boom.

about $250 for myself.

I cook all my own meals and eat a lot of them daily.

People need to learn to make soup and eat chicken legs and the like. Big ass pack of like 15 legs is about $6. Bag of potatoes is $4, veggies are super cheap.

If stuff you like is now triple in price, dont buy it, like something else instead.

Pro tip- if your wife does the cooking, there is a strong chance she is wasting a ton of money on ingredients you dont need.

I go shopping two-three times a week, and late spring through fall the farmers market once a week. I prefer ingredients like meat to be fresh so frequent trips. It would be hard to quantify but including eating out once a week food is approximately 2k. That's for a family of 6 with 4 young kids. I could be spend less but I don't mind spending extra on quality food especially if I can shake hands with whomever harvested/slaughtered it.

It would be more if I didn't stock up so much wild meat during season. I usually keep trout, fowl, and deer in the freezer. If I am lucky, I'll have an elk in there every year

About $550-$650 a month. 2 adults. Will go to the grocery store 5x a week for 5 meals, 2 nights a week it's some sort of carry out. Breakfast and lunch is leftover dinner. My wife puts her leftovers in the fridge. I just leave mine on the counter for the bacteria to grow and I'll eat it the next day. I think that builds up my immune system.

3 years ago the pipes froze one winter in my house. I used water from the toilet to make coffee for my pre workout drink. It goes back to that immune system. Ded srs.

I live alone so about $400/month but it varies. I don't have to buy items like rice and condiments/oils/butter/ every time I go shopping so it can be more or less depending on what I want to eat.

$600 if I eat out multiple times.

hmm...

if you have a garden start growing some vegetables

coupons

buy in bulk

go to churches for food they not only have food to eat there, but sometimes they give a lot away

price gouging and inflation wont go away because people willing pay for it, instead of challenging these prices. if folks were to boycott and protest there may be some movement

Lunch 5oz ground chicken and 1/2 cup of black beans

Pre gym is the same as lunch

dinner uses up the difference. usually steak, ground bison, chicken, or tuna with a sweet potato or that bag steamed broccoli.

I try to get 1g per pound of bodyweight in protein per day. Is that too much?
