How much do you pay monthly for groceries?

I'm about to have to start a garden or something. I have a family of four. My groceries, so far this month, have cost me $1300. I have 16 year old who eats as much as I do. We rarely eat out. It's almost time to dumpster dive for food. At this rate, food will cost more than my house.

Probably about $900-ish. 2 adults/2 small kids. I think we spend about 250-350 every week and a half or so.

I just looked at our app where we track our spending. Bro, I only have $900 allotted to go to groceries. We have dun gooft. We have $300 for eating out and $300 for gas. We aren't even approaching our eating out budget but gas is getting close. I hate our government.

Honestly no clue but every time I hit the grocery store it's between $120-160 usually. I'd say $50-60 of that is just Sauvignon Blanc though while the rest is food hehetymen

about 600/month for 2500 cals a day averaging around 250g of protein. I could prolly cut that down to 500 or 450 to be honest

In the summer probably $50 mainly on beef and juice, in the winter probably 200. We grow and raise almost all of our own food. We donโ€™t have cows yet and our orchard is still growing so weโ€™re a few years away from some of those things.

For meat we raise goats and chickens - eggs too, and we drink goats milk

We have a lot of land but if you look into aeroponics you can meet the produce needs for a family of 4 on like 800 sqft. Then you just need to get meat, eggs, dairy and grain.

what exactly are you eating? 250G of protein is a lot.

1 pound of COOKED steak is about 100G of protein.

I don't even want to know. We have 7 in our home. My oldest just turned 17 and is running cross country so you can imagine how he eats. We drink about a gallon per day of milk. My pay has increased a bunch over the last couple years but it feels like it's all going to food and gas.

When I had a family of 4, $400/month. ded fkn srs. Ate like kings.

Now I spend about $200/mo, but it's just me and my brother. Still eat like kings.

Secret is learning to shop and knowing how to cook. And not just cook, but learn how to make incorporate ingredients to make dishes. I find things on sale, and don't just throw it on the stove or oven. I learn make things interesting by combining the ingredients I bought on sale.

Scanned the last 30 days and spent $360.

However that is for 2 females who usually eat 2 meals a day plus some snacks and I shop around for good prices + stock up on items when prices are good.

For 2 adults and 2 kids, we budget around $1,600/m total for food. Usually ends up being right around there most months, sometimes a bit over if having an expensive meal out.

We budget $700/month but that also includes weekly grocery trips plus Sam's Club/Costco for the bulk stuff.

To be fair, most banks offer breakdowns on where you spend your money (assuming you use a card of some type rather than cash).

Had no idea what my food spending came out to prior to this thread. Logged onto my bank account, and was able to see every month for the last twelve months, the average, etc.

Turns out I spend ~350 (srs) on groceries and ~400 on eating out each month (on average).

750 per month straight to food...should probably eat out less lol.

Buy groceries for myself cuz FA. I think I spend maybe 300-400 a month mostly because I buy a lot of produce, grass fed beef, etc.

It's not that bad; I stock up on stuff when it's on sale so I save a bit

Not sure, too much is all I know. Wife just spent $650 at Costco last week, all food. When she goes without me she buys over a month's worth of snacks for the kids because she hates grocery shopping.

I actually looked into this recently. It's really reasonable overall. We live below our means here despite being able to avoid tremendously more. It's just a process I like to follow. I like buying things on sale and bulking up on these things on sale. For example, I'll buy a number of family packs of chicken breasts and freeze them, especially when cutting. I don't buy really expensive foods and barely ever order out or eat out. I've been to a restaurant once in the past year and ordered pizza twice. I just really prefer to learn how to make a meal and try making it myself. I find it creates an experiential experience to the meal.

To answer your question, maybe 150 a week, 600 a month. Somewhere around there. And I take many more liberties than I used to.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*
