take the time to go to the office and find out what will satisfy their request; what kind of pics videos measurements and by whom.
if too costly, then bring that same proof to court, done by you and provide it then.

my area didn't like my fence after a tree hit it, so i had to take it all down and get it hauled off.
$500 fine if not done by a date on paperwork.

Start a file, keep notes of all correspondences, call a tree removal firm and get him/her to verify if you meet codes or not. If I was in a similar situation that is what I'd do.

I know this is not going to be popular, but those trees are out farther than others and I doubt he is going around with a ruler to check. One look at that from the street is enough to prompt the letter.

You or whoever planted those put them out further than they likely should be.

I agree with the posts to get clarification on the exact distance, but do you really care that much about those trees?

It's easier to deal with them this size rather than have some ******* bitching about them in ten years when they are bigger.

Find out if you are out of compliance and comply if you are. It is a city zoning thing, not HOA.

Edit: btw, some of these rules make sense in places where **** grows and trees/bushes take over. Do not compare Florida to Arizona.

"Approxamately" and "All the planting in that area... need to be moved..."

Is he black? WTF is that shyt?

I'd reply, "Since your grammar and spelling are so bad, I would assume your reading of a tape measure is just as bad." And send him pics of your measurements.

I read about this type of chit in the paper regularly where I live. Usually the defendant goes around and finds property owned by the city and finds them breaking the code/law. I never find out how the final outcome goes in court but I guess I'd start there.

I wood send the measurements along with a copy of your detailed illustration you drew up.

And then remind him that this is your property and anyone that comes onto your property without your authority is trespassing.

Then put up a big ass sign, 10 feet away from pavement, next to the palm trees of what we do to trespassers brah!

No, I am just not retired and see no reason to get in fights with whatever city official gets his first nepotist job cruising for **** like this every five years.

They are three ****ing palm trees. Does OP even care?

Edit: you may have misinterpreted my previous edit. It was more for anyone that thinks such a rule is outrageous. Visibility and mobility can get bad if people let plants take over near the road. OP has three trees ten feet off it. I am not saying he is violating any rule or causing problems. It is just not worth it unless he really cared about the trees.

My brother had to dig out a bunch of trees the previous owner drunkenly and randomly planted around the yard.

No offense to OP if he planted these, but the spacing seems a bit wonky. Does not even appear planned. The guy may be doing you a favor.

Do you have a hot gf/wife -(even sister or friend) you can send to the planing dept?

These guys are all nerds who will simp for any female that shows a little attention. They will probably let it go if you send a female over and she dresses sexy business professional and does a little light flirting

Yeah bro it's probably a blessing in disguise. I planted like 16 different coconut trees that i grew from sprout/coconut shell.. i had so many i gave like 15 trees away to people. I planted them randomly in my backyard too. So many coconuts I'll probably die from one falling on my head.

I sent the guy a complying email bit also asking him to come out and take his own measurements.
