Before covid was amazing
Post covid it isn’t worth it and I’m moving on from renting.
Last 4 years it’s been nothing but “I lost my job, I don’t have money, my bank account is frozen in the abyss, my fathers friend tripped last week I can’t pay rent!”
Most of all the damage I’ve had on my home, walls being punched in, my island somehow got ripped up from the floor, woman throwing non flushable wipes down the toilet causing flooding on 2nd floor multiple times, clogged drains, dirty stained carpet that costs thousands to replace, blowing up the AC condenser outside in summer by putting AC to 65 degrees in 105 degree weather, cops bothering me looking for old roommates for crimes, broken fences, dogs tearing holes in the lawn…
Breh I can go on for days. Since post covid I swear people act homeless, careless and entitled
I had one tenant try to argue he was working 2 weeks out of the month traveling and he should only have to pay half the months rent
Oh yeah can’t forget the scratched/dinged walls and door trimmings torn up from dogs and them moving ****

Explain how none of that shiit is my problem though and they'll look at you like you're from another planet.

It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

They purposely did the whole squatter BS with everything else to further push away middle class
What the bottom feeders don’t realize is instead of paying 500$ for a nice big house and room to rent they’ll now be paying 2000$+ for a fraction of a house. Corporations are heavily protected against renters
Private you’ll be lucky to get rent 7/12 months not Including the damage that incurs or wearing items out

honestly i still kept my 40k job cuz they dont really make that much. roughtly bout 3.5k/mth after tax/deductions and assuming the tenants pay. you arent gonna make it in the rental game until you have 10+ properties. Plus now i have to deal with constant drama (noise complaints) and a lot of dumb nonsense between the tenants AKA got to drunk and lost their keys so call me at 2am to let them in.

Most of all majority of renters are programmed to hate and disrespect the landlord and take out all their personal issues on them. It deters the attention on corporations/banks/politicians who are the real cause of all of this

This idea that some folks rent and "trash places" - makes me wonder what sort of trash is being rented to, and/or what sort of bottom of the barrel scraping some landlords do. Some != all.100%. I'd personally only rent out to family or friends. But then who knows if that sours the relationship if something goes sideways.

And anyone in this business knows the reputable ones too.Not all property management companies are worth AF though, and I've had some really bad experiences with them. Tenants paying the rent and "accounting errors" that kept them from paying ME, phone calls unanswered, voicemails, not returned, emails ignored, etc. I'm dealing with one right now that is getting ready to GTFO for those very reasons.

Guaranteed they are wrecking the place.
There's some confusion here as to inspections - I run an 'etat des lieux' type thing where detailed photos are taken of every room of every place, signed off by the tenant and myself. Any changes beyond wear and tear are paid for by the tenant, period.
People seem to forget that an ability to rent one of my properties isn't a right. I am the one who has the right to discern between good and bad tenants, and any good tenant simply agrees to what I ask for because it's within their ability to commit to. I can weed out morons IRL as well as I do here, as a quick point.

You have to investigate who you're allowing to rent your place. If you let section 8 in there, you can expect to be in court a lot while these drug addicts and criminals ruin your house.

I have one property that I rent out for 2100 a month. Single family house, drive way included. No central air.
