It blows my mind that the auto industry is killing the sedan and the consumer is bending over like little cucks to buy their precious SUVs and crossovers.

New cars blow cawk. They’re an embarrassment to drive.

The problem with the micro pickup trucks is they don't do anything 'well' for their price. They don't have the speed/handling/luxury of a sedan. They don't have the interior space of a SUV. And they don't have the towing/hauling capability of other trucks.


As far as being able to tow 4-5K pounds. Maybe in a perfect world. Completely flat pavement. A good single or even double axle trailer with electric braking. Etc. But in stop & go traffic, hilly/curvy terrain, etc. the weight puts strain on the vehicles causing parts to get damaged/malfunction at a much higher rate. I've seen it happen a few times with brahs with smaller trucks. Especially die hard Tacoma brahs who eventually damaged their trucks by towing/hauling too much weight.


For individuals like yourself and some businesses the compact trucks work well. But there is a reason why they aren't more popular. They are nearly the same price as 1500 class trucks. Which have more interior space and far more over-all capabilities.




If I only needed a compact truck I'd pick up an older Ford Ranger for 5-10K or so and have that as a lil beater compact. But I'd want a nicer car/SUV as a primary vehicle.

you're blending traits from cars, suvs and a truck -- the point is that they don't do anything particularly well but do a lot of things good enough. ride smooth, handle decent, can tow a little, very useful truck bed, decent mpg, fit in most garages, awd, easier to park.

if you like a midsize/compact unibody suv...the handling/ride quality/mpg/more compact size but think you might occasionally need a truck bed...that's the niche.

can't deny though that image is a big selling factor for trucks.
