Is it even against the law to run someone over if they throw themselves under your tires?

There is a contributory negligence clause in the criminal code.

If the plaintiff's negligence was such that they are wholly responsible for the harm or injury they suffered, then the defendant will be excused of any liability. An example of contributory negligence as a partial defence is where a person walks out onto a road without looking and is hit by a car that is speeding.

Also that bus looked like it has some sort of pedestrian safe front end where it can't even run someone over.

Someone here got nailed with vehicular homicide when he killed someone on I5 during a BLM protest. Of course she was painted as a saint with her whole life ahead of her. I'm sure her life of working at Starbucks while being a full time activist will be sorely missed.
