Best part is when they are posting on social media about buying their wife a new SUV, but they can't seem to pay me back the 15k they owe me. Weird.

It becomes less of a problem the more you make.

You start out in a chitty little pond, you make a little bit of money and everybody notices because they have jack chit.

You then move to a nicer pond and people don't care as much, due to them all doing ok themselves.

You then say fk it and just buy your own pond, so people only encounter you in their ponds and only have a vague idea about your pond.

Your problem OP is that you are still in the initial chitty pond and using every penny you have to try and look like the biggest fish. You can't stop telling people that you have a little bit of money and trying to give them the impression you have even more.

If you stop trying to act like billy big bollocks, they will stop asking you for money.

A little off topic of the thread but you reminded me of a revelation I had once. Back in 2019 I had just sold my DD and was getting rid of my C6 corvette to upgrade to a C7, there was about a week before the C7 came into town so my buddy let me borrow some random beater he didnt use... A 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with like 200K miles on it. I loved that week, I didnt give AF where I parked or how close anyone parked to me, etc... Was really the most peace of mind I had in a vehicle.. I've got a '21 Wrangler now that I DD and dont really give a chit about it, either, which is nice.
