It's already completely wrecked on the mid-low level, wages low af, and hard af to find a job. In several years, these people will all be seniors, then you'll be boned.

IT have ebs and flows based on technology and needs. The initial boom in the late 90s/early 00s was due to technological advancement letting people do lots, till in blew up in a bust till 2018, due to a lot of tasks being outsourced to automation, and in 2020, due to COVID and WFH. It'll die again for another couple of decades, if not, more.

****** can't do trades, because its unholy due to their book, so you can charge them infinity money. Plus, every kunt wants to WFH, so fewer and fewer tradies.

If I were in your position I'd take the tradie job and see how long I could handle it. If you don't like it or feel burned out after a while you could always go back to the IT field.
