My last wife had been married before and changed her name to his.
When we got married she got a free name change so changed it back to her maiden name.
her dad was a full blown hero. he was a frogman in WW2 who was on the beach in iwo Jima days before the invasion, just him and his team. They drew up maps for the invasion and scouted the best routes and laid explosives and such.
then he swam out and had to latch on to a rope hanging from a speeding PT boat or be left behind. That was just one of the acts of badassery he did during the war. Plus he graduated from MIT and was an advanced weapons developer for Lockheed.
Pretty hard to compete with that so i was ok with it.

"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda
