Head up OP, you'll never stop thinking about her, but it does get easier. Be the type of man your dog believed you are.

Sorry to hear man, fukin horrible, gut wrenching feeling. Dogs are truly the best.

You just have to ride it out, there's really nothing you can do or no magic that will help you, there's all kinds of platitudes out there but i found none of them will help so i will refrain from them.

Mourn properly, perhaps make a memorial or do whatever ritual you have to do to cope, write down memories etc. The pain wont go away (why should it? It's a reflection of your bond), but it will become easier to deal with.

It's one of the worst feelings because they look to you to fix everything, make it right, but you couldn't. They just don't live long enough. Their life cycle is so fast, it's not fair. You pick up a little puppy and it's grown in no time and before you know it, they are senior dogs and they just get deeper and deeper with the connection and then they rip your soul out.

Lost my Sara on 12-6-2021 but got almost 14 years with her so I was blessed, then lost my 1.5 year old GSD by getting hit by a car 6mo later, I got shorted. Now I have my Ava, a solid black GSD, I take her everywhere, even to work. We cuddle all night. She's only 1.5 years old now but when she goes, I'm going.

They call them man's best friend for a reason. Keep busy with hobbies, time heals. RIP
