RIP. Best thing you can do is practice being stoic af. You'll probably be crying randomly and even in public for a lil bit, nbd.

when i was 10 years old my dog busted out the door to chase a loud truck and he caught it ( the front tire). I walked to school in shock and then just cried all day long at school.

I never emotionally recovered, dead inside. srs

Hard AF loosing a pupper. My last one was 18 years old when she died and had been with me for most of my life at the time.

Go get a puppy, ded srs. Pour all your love into it, your doggo would want you to still be happy.

Was there earlier this year, sadly some users here took me posting a thread like this as an opportunity to mock the death of my dog and ridicule me for it. Just letting you know the quality of people we have on this forum.

If you want to talk about it feel free to PM me, I'd be happy to try and help you work through it. Getting puppies is what really helped me get over it, but the first week or two was very tough, especially because you are still in shock over it.

I am so sorry for your loss of your pupper.Losing a beloved pet is just awful. It's been 9 months since I lost mine and it still hits hard at times. I miss him every single day. You just have to let yourself feel your feelings and cry if you need to. Everyone is different in how they grieve. Some people go get another dog right away and that helps them.

TBH used to be this way, then had a real kid and realized dogs are definitely overhumanized...the fact you are "shell shocked" is disturbing. You dont need psychiatric services bro, you just need to accept it and give it time.

I don’t have kids. I had a dog. Just one. It functioned as a kid I suppose. It was dependent on me for food and water at all times. It followed me everywhere. I used to share my food with it. Today I was eating a burger and I saved half of it for her then I remembered she’s gone… I woke up today and thought I’d better get downstairs quick…then I realized she was gone… I’d go downstairs every morning to walk her before I started my day…

sorry for your loss.

tbh it hurts more than losing many family members you might rarely see. i think of my dead dogs and cat all the time. they were the best.

if anything it sometimes makes me value the time with my existing pets more respectfully.
