He was famous enough in the show to do late night shows
So it makes sense

They are also in NY pre internet dating.
The world was different pre internet

jerry was a successful working jew comedian in a HUGE transplant city. transplant bitches love to come to new york and bag themselves an NYC stereotype. he was also very aloof re: his approach to women generally. jerry being a player and getting a lot of puss made sense.

george was not successful with women. he had girlfriends sometimes, but that's how it goes. ugly guys get girlfriends too in real life.

Guys today that are below average, bald/manlet/fat like george have almost NO CHANCE to even get anything. Their looks match would rather just drink box wine, be cat women and get some occasional dik from a guy 3-4 points higher than them on the looks scale.

NYC is the best dating market for men in the USA. Imagine attractive women growing up seeing movies of other attractive women moving to a place, living the big city life, and sleeping around. Now boom, generation after generation of attractive women move there and want to sleep around.

George def doesnt make sense but he would get lucky sometimes as anybody could

jerry and even kramer made sense though. Jerrys puffy hair was the norm style back in the day

and the whole kramer character was based on real life friends we had that were low inhibition, unemployed but still somehow got sloots.. we all knew someone like that. All in the personality
