What's wrong with fireworks? They are fun when you light them yourself!

Does kinda make you chuckle to think EVs are being dry-jammed into everyone’s angus and single use plastics and heat pumps and yadda yadda but then we have stuff like insane fireworks displays

Some of the shows I watched last night, they were designed to have lasers shooting through all the carbon being emitted into the atmosphere!

Surely its causing you a nuisance obviously it is conditioning you to some other correlational narrative
You are more likely to hurt yourself with fireworks. Personally I would ban both.

Howdy J....

I hate the fireworks season events for above reasons.
I've had two dogs in my life (over 10 years each) and they'd freak out at the first firecracker.
They were always terrified and there was little I could do to calm them down.
Probably very painful to their sensitive ears.

Unfortunately (), the world doesn't revolve around my boundaries and preferences so fireworks aren't going away in my lifetime.
But, I wouldn't judge or criticize those that do celebrate with them.
Hence, a libation of choice and ear plugs are my options of choice.

Back to it.

Super fun when you're a kid but now that I'm in my 30s its just meh. Just like Christmas. Any time I want something I go buy it. Year round. By the time Christmas gets here I not only need nothing. I also don't want anything. I'd say the GOAT Christmas gifts at this stage in my life are socks, underwear or t-shirts. (Srs)

When I have kids I'm sure that excitement for fire-works & Christmas will return. But as an adult its just meh.

When I lived in the South Pacific, every year at Diwali it was the same thing. 3 kids would blow their fingers off with fireworks and one would get electrocuted stringing up sketchy lights. It was like the Fiji Times just recycled the same article every year.

I literally explained like 5 reasons why they are bad.

Did you grab a flash light and walk around a half mile radius picking up every piece of debris that landed on the ground?

Objectively they're a giant waste of money and stupid for the above reasons. But they hit something primal and a real show is impressive AF. Buying $500-1000 to literally watch go up in smoke is low IQ tho especially considering you're getting a free show from everyone else lighting theirs off lol.

the ones that just stay on the ground and don't shoot into the air offer a pretty good compromise. It's contained to a small area and the debris is easily cleaned and disposed of. Where I'm from those are the only ones you can legally get anyways.

Strong this.

If you're still getting giddy about fireworks as a grown man, I got some bad news for you.
