Yeah. But lonely people are more into video games and gym…but at the same time they are also into alcohol and smoking…both don't get along well with each other….now you decide???? I think alcohol and smoking are easier to do…

Well that and the millennial generation is far more accepting of video games than the gen Xers where most of them only played them as kids/teens. Boomers always feared video games if anything, being the only generation still around that is old enough to have not grown up with them, never really able to experience or understand them.

Millennial males on the other hand kept playing them well into their young adult years, and still play them today. I think that's because they're the generation the gaming industry sorta grew with. Like back when they were kids most games were kinda kiddish or kid friendly, and as they got older games got a lot more sophisticated and mature. That and they got to experience the gaming industry during it's peak. As for zoomers, gaming has just always been a regular major part of entertainment for them, and they have always known it to have a lot of mature offerings that they could grow into.

It's sorta like how rock music went from something that was initially feared by the older generations, that was seen as something youth oriented or for kids, eventually grew into a standard that no shortage of grown adults still enjoy listening to.

Yeah. But too much gym at a young age will make the person appear older sooner then his natural time.

I forgot weightlifting is for children and babies

once you hit 1,000lb deadlift at 8 years old, you need to quit. There is nothing left for you to accomplish

Exercising and healthy habits are very childish. What are you trying to do? cope with lifes failures?

You should be 300lb bloat lord by age 35

Also you will see a pattern if someone has overplayed video games for a certain period of time, at some point they will get tired or depressed of it, so they will quit it completely…but in some cases people get back to them after some time…like me….but I don't see myself playing too much of it if I do get back…

It’s comical because I’m finding that not much has changed in 15 years , as Im still losing my temper while gaming . Caught myself on the edge of punching my new computer, but have learned to walk away lol .
But it’s supposed to be fun they said

So you think lonely people should spend more time drinking and smoking than going to the gym and playing video games because going to the gym is hard?

I think it's like that if you're deep into any media really. Like movie buffs will get burned out on movies, music fans will get burned out on music scenes, ect. That and the more people have experience with something, the higher their standards can become. Like for me with video games, I have become burned out on a lot of the latest popular things, but I know enough about video games to know which older games I love going back to so I still enjoy playing video games just by enjoying what I consider classics. No different from how I approach movies and music these days as well really, I don't care for most of the new stuff while there's no shortage of classic content I enjoy.

I mean I completely agree with OP

My 12 year old son tried going to the gym the other day to lift some weights

I straight up told him, arnt you a little old for that now?

I dont know how he will ever become a man. Constantly doing childish things like exercising and lifting weights. BIG time cope I can tell.
also I'm an insecure little bitch who cant stand seeing jacked men because it makes me feel so pathetic and insecure. So I also will go on various bodybuilding forums like the OP and spread fud

lol wut

your first 3 are terrible substitutes for videogames or lifting. your last 3 aren't bad, but that's a pretty damn boring life if that's all you do. Do whatever you want, i'll enjoy my own hobbies.

EDIT:

after reading more posts OP I think you should talk to someone. If, as you got older, you only started to find enjoyment in drinking and smoking, that seems like a symptom of an underlying issue. There's plenty in life to find enjoyment in.

Fixing stuff around the house as everything constantly breaks down every day

Working long hours into the night for Mr Noseberg and buying him a second yacht in the process

Pretending to listen to your children as they talk to you about their interests, which you have no energy for nor desire to hear about

Get yelled at by your wife for not doing something exactly as she instructed, like a good little servant

Going to the doctor to hear about how your health is declining

The idea behind making this thread was not to diss on the people who like going to gym (I myself was into serious bodybuilding a decade ago). But I just found it unusual as to how almost everyone goes to gym way into their adult ages just coz they are bored? or have nothing else going right for them in their lives???

I am not. When I was into gym, I had to learn how to do 100s of exercises properly…regularly buy attire for gym…extra bit of laundry….extra bit of ironing….watch out my diet, supplements….

Alcohol is like what? You just buy it and drink it without thinking too much…

I've discussed this with one of my friends. I think someone could probably make money creating retirement homes or selling their services to current retirement homes to setup video game LAN rooms. So many old people who are lonely, don't get enough mental stimulation…meanwhile if i was stuck at a retirement home, i would absolutely LOVE to have LAN parties with fellow old gamers.

You can drink alcohol while playing games boyo.

Why is watching a movie less useless than playing a game? Games today have amazing stories, and you’re involved.

What are your hobbies, brah?

Explain to me how playing a game of chess is different than playing a game of Warhammer miniatures?

Or how reading a book series is different to playing an immersive RPG with lots of high quality writing like Planescape: Torment?

Or how bowling is different than playing a game of Tekken on the couch with friends and a six pack? Is it a less social experience?

Gaming can be a wholesome hobby and in no way does it exclude enjoying other activities like hiking or fishing or digging for old coins or whatever the fukk it is you are doing with your free time.

Boomers fkin lol

It's the most pathetic thing when losers b-arch about people simply because they've got the self respect to keep in decent shape. These "men" b*tch like they're teenage girls when they can't even make the the little effort it takes to go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week to get in an easy workout. That's all it takes to not look like a melting ice cream cone.
